Not here to stir up any debate or to detract from the discussion in the other thread--I'm just interested in seeing how people vote on this. https://streamable.com/e6p57
This is one of the most laughably slanted poll questions I have ever seen. This content is protected
And there is interesting no clip to go with the question. Here we go: https://streamable.com/e6p57 What about a choice for a forearm smash?
Probably could have worded it better but did you somehow miss the “No“ and “At least there 's no real basis to believe otherwise” parts, by any chance?
He gives three options to vote for ,I cant see what's slanted about that? Want to recap some of your own voting threads?lol
There's reasonable question marks ovee it, but I currently think no. I think the over acting, was really just Sharkey trying to move back from it
The video proves nothing either way. Asssuming it was a dive, it's neither a particularly good one, or a particularly bad one.
Sharkey was not an old fighter on the decline, and a bit overweight. So Carner could well KO him legitimately at that point. But I believe it was a fix.
He looked a bit flabby, was that perhaps because he knew what the result was going to be and trained accordingly? N.B. Sharkey was actually 4lbs lighter than he had been a year earlier when he won the title from Schmeling.
True. He went on to lose to Levinsky and Loughran in his next two fights of 1932, so it's safe to say he was well past his best. That's my point.
I have no idea myself. I've read stuff saying it was but I've read stuff saying it wasn't too. I don't think the film gives much away.
