    Resuming the series I started a while back.

    Which of these men would you favor against Jack Dempsey, prime for prime, with every man giving his best possible performance that night? Pick as many (or as few) as apply.

    Not trying to stir debate. I just want to get everyone's votes on the record.

    Before anyone complains, please note that Dempsey v. Louis & Foreman were already covered in other threads, and I hope to cover Dempsey v. Ali, Tyson & Lewis in future threads.

    I find it incredibly interesting to note that Pat M and KoolKevin both favor Dempsey over Marciano

    This is the first time I've seen either favor an older heavyweight against a more modern heavyweight

    They all have the potential to beat him, imho. But the only ones I'd really favour would be Tyson, Holmes, and the Klitschkos.

    Dempsey / Marciano is a crap shoot imho. Dempsey either wrecks him early or gets wrecked down the stretch. At least, how I see it.

    I've gone back and forth on that one. It would be a very entertaining brawl while it lasted, and I could see it going either way. If forced to pick, I think that Dempsey probably has the style and physical attributes to take advantage of some of Marciano's limitations.

    Either that or I just picked against Marciano because Dempsey's bigger than him.

    I haven't seen much video of Dempsey but from what I've seen he looks better than what came before him. My opinion of Marciano dropped after scoring his fight with Walcott as a Fight of the Week on this board. Marciano on video looks slow, he's not explosive, he has terrible footwork, etc. Just because I pick somebody over him doesn't mean I'm impressed by the other fighter.

    Where is the choice of "All of the Above" . I could very well pick that one. However, if I had to say who I wouldn't, it might actually be Wald. Wlad has all the tools to beat Dempsey, and very well could, but I could also see him getting caught, going into octopus mode, and never recovering.
