Foreman was the overwhelming aggressor while Joe was trying to survive. It was all Foreman.

I've found at least two newspapers that favored Frazier, Vanboxingfan.

You seem to find newspapers for everything..too bad they don't mean all that much, but if you want to use them to support you're opinion fine with me.

    I just watched it

Foreman has Frazier on the ropes twice.

He throws many more shots, he lands a few more

Frazier made him miss a lot, especially in the first sequence where Frazier is on the ropes.

But, Frazier didn't make him pay for his misses

I'd give the round to Foreman based on ring generalship and being busier.

That's pretty much my take on it as well. Foreman controlled where the fight would take place, threw more punches, missed a lot but was busy enough that he landed more than Frazier did.

I counted about 30 punches landed by Foreman. Really no need to count Fraziers punches as there were so much less in number. Add to this George was the aggressor throughout. A clear Foreman round.

Foreman missed a TON of punches in that round. Just watching it without counting, he probably landed about 20 percent of his shots, while Frazier landed nearly everything he threw.

When you add up all the punches they both landed, Foreman still probably edges him.

However, if DEFENSE counts ... Frazier should get credit for avoiding about 70 blows in that round.

There were moments there where Foreman would throw like eight or nine shots, and miss with all of them. Or George will land one glancing shot after throwing six or seven punches, then Frazier hits him with a left.

Frazier did make George miss an awful lot.

George was an effective aggressor. Even when he was missing, Frazier was so busy bobbing and weaving he wasn't throwing much.

But hell, if a guy can't hit you flush with eight or nine out of 10 punches, and you're right in front of him, you're doing something right, too.

Tough to score. But I gave it to Foreman.

It's deceptive because Foreman may be the aggressor but he is missing most of his shots.

Foreman threw a lot in round 2 but often missed badly and his few lands weren't very good clean effective punches. Frazier scored with some very crisp left hands, two of which visibly stunned Foreman briefly.

I expect many will pick Foreman because of his activity and of course, the need to preserve the status quo.

Silly. George was aggressor 100% of the time, continually forced Joe to the ropes and landed many more punches. Joe did not officially win any round in this fight.

I don't care about aggression if you are missing everything and the other guy scores with more big punches. Joe landed counters off the ropes, Foreman swung at air.

Actually no, I counted Foreman at landing no more than 10...none we're really worth a damn. Touching jabs to the forehead, paws to the arms, and one power shot that was rolled with.

If you want to see what landed Foreman punches look like, watch round 3 and 5.

No official scoring released that I know of.

The AP and other articles state Frazier edged round 2.
