Try getting someone of a similar size & strength to push you using about 50% of their maximum force. Your body will be pushed back, over and behind your feet, but not so violently that you fall to the ground before you're able to reposition a foot, so that it is below the position your body is pushed to and you'll remain on your feet.

Try getting that person to push you using the same force, whilst they're stood firmly on your feet. You'll fall over.

Ali was not hurt by Chuck's punch. He absorbed multiple harder body shots without being punched.

I am not arguing with three of you at once any longer. A punch knocked him down. Yes, there was an extenuating circumstance, but no, stepping on someone's foot does not knock them down. He was visibly hurt, and no, it is not always the hardest punch that gets you.

    That is all.

Standing on someone's foot in itself doesn't knock them over.

It's takes minimal force to knock someone over once you're stood on their foot, however. This really shouldn't need to be explained.

Ali showed no signs of being hurt by the punch, because he wasn't.

Good luck trying to get through to him cause I give up. The clown can't even show where Ali was hurt. If it was as "clear" as he says, he should have zero issue with doing so.

Yeah, on reflection his position is so ridiculous, he can only be trolling.

In which case, fair play to him, because he's caught three of us.

I agree. He’s either trolling or dksab… or both.

Stepping on someone's foot and then punching them is against the rules, the referee just happened to not see it.

And Ali doesn't look hurt at all to me, he gets right up and whoops Wepner's ass.

Usyk is bigger, faster and has a style advantage. Bad combo. He'd get home with a points advantage more often than not I suspect, for all that Liston might be the slightly better fighter overall.

Really hard to call this fight. I will wait until Usyk's career is done or at least the Fury fight before I make a decision. Still many questions to be asked if Usyk for h2h discussions.

What bearing does a Fury fight have on a Liston fight though? I should think guys like Breidis and Gassiev are more similar to Liston than Fury. Liston doesn't have Fury's enormous weight and height advantage and isn't going to exhaust Usyk by draping his 260+ pounds over Usyk in clinches.

If Usyk drops down to cruiserweight and fights Opetaia that would probably be more relevant than a Fury fight.

Well I try to avoid making declarative statements about how a fighter would do against boxers from other eras if their career isn't over. Fury has a long reach like Liston and may target Usyk's body so it actually would give us some answers.
