When the boxing nostalgists and the fanboys of North American boxing and I mean ones of all nationalities, start being consistent and applying their rules and standards fairly to fighters from all over the world and fighters from all eras, which FTR they literally never do, I'm going to continue to force them to play by their rules. I stopped playing by my rules on here long ago and not without good reason.

This is my position and I'm not going to buckle from it no matter what, mate

    I don't believe was shot

I already know what your position on the current HW scene is

I also think the boxing nostaligists view everything from the past through the lens of rose-coloured goggles and everything of today through the lens of a microscope and it irks the poop out of me because their picks in these hypothetical match ups between fighters from yesteryear and those of today or fighters from certain parts of the world and other parts literally always flow in one direction. I'm not accusing you of that just explaining why I find this all so tedious and generally avoid these types of debates.

Bowe is more fluid. Levels above both Chisora and aj on the inside. Better jab, workrate, better chin, better stamina. They are different fighters. Bowe might even be better at closing the gap

This has been my biggest issue with the HW division (And others as well). With so many belts, we’re in the "pay me big money"/social media era of boxing. Weight/title hopping, looking for a catchweight fights based on $$ rather those in their division.

Look at Ryan Garcia for example. 15 years ago, he’d be in no position to challenge someone like Haney. No belt, not ranked at 140. But he’s got followers on Instagram, so it was loked at.

Tank wanting catchweight fights w/ no rehydration clause. Hell, he said he’s fight Haney at a CW, despite already having jumped up to get a belt at 140. And Charlo bros jumping up for $$ fights rather then defending against those in their division. Now Crawford vs Canelo is a real possibility. And HW’s fighting an MMA fighter w/o any wins.

Thank god for Inoue at least!

It's hard to pick any modern HW to beat the best of the 90s. Aj and Fury don't have many great wins either. Although the Brothers don't have the greatest resume of names, They had a run of dominance, especially Wlad

Riddick Bowe was seriously good, as was Holyfield

I may be wearing Rose tinted glasses, but I think Evander would beat usyk. Not easily, but he would literally out fight him

The 90s scene was pretty good and the 80s is underrated too. Sure they are bigger now, but the talent is lacking.

Usyk of course has brilliant skills, Aj is physically good, but lacking something and Fury is a big awkward guy, who blows hot and cold, but the top guys aren't as good

Mercer, morrison, Tua, Big George, Moorer, Ruddock etc are far from a bad bunch. Of course post Prison Tyson was still a force, then you have Lewis, Holyfield and Bowe

That's a much better list than old Zhang, limited Wilder, Parker, Hrgovic, whyte etc

Also the big 3 now, Aj/usyk/fury are not as good a trio as Bowe/Holyfield/Lewis

    No way

Without them fighting their current peers, everything becomes just a hypothetical matchup. And hyperbole and exaggerations take over. I agree with you on Usyk v Holyfield. Holy could make it a dog fight, And is definitely better than anyone Usyk’s faced at HW so far. And hell, Fury might not even be better than Jameel McCline w/o McCline’s opponents to test. I think Mercer would beat just about all today to be honest.

How is that not evidence that Riddick Bowe suffered brain damage?
