The number 229 is meaningless and irrelevant. Out of those 229 how many were actually solid connects? Not many.

But besides that, if Shane landed 229 punches on Manny, then Pac gets KO'd......period.

Manny won't allow himself to take as many as he will respect Shane's speed and power more than Margo's.

And Shane won't get hit with anywhere as many because even at 39 he has way more defensive skills than Margo, respects Pac's punch, and how's more offensive options.

He doesn't have to walk forward only to land punches. Shane can step back and land punches, he can be all the way on the inside and land punches. Margo's lack of speed and Pac's speed forced Margo to have to make a choice.

Come forward to have a chance to land, or have no chance to land.

Way under that. Nothing close to that number at all. TBH, Margarito's corner & Cotto's corner should've stopped their fights with Pacquiao a few rounds sooner. Richardson would never allow Mosley to take the unneeded punishment they did. The closer it gets to Mosley/Pacquiao the better chances I give Pacquiao to stop the old man river lol.

 

If you are using this as some sort of comparison between Margarito and Shane...why? We have a better way to compare the two, which is when Shane ****ed him up in their head to head fight. The 229 punches Tony landed are irrelevant.

Lets look at this another way. Manny landed 474 punches on Tony and he went the distance, SSM landed 178 on Tony and stopped him. The point is, I don't think it matters how many he lands, I think it's more important which ones he lands.

Conversely, there's little doubt that Shane won't eat a record-breaking 474 punches, 411 of which were power punches, like your drywall handwraps hero did.

Let's be honest here, the Pacquiao fight was held in a catchweight that gave Tony a chance to make the distance yet he took what will be remembered as one of the worst beating in boxing history.

 

Margarito fought like a warrior and took the fight to Pac that is true but you left out the part where Pacquiao decided to carry him from round 10 onward and stopped beating the **** out of him.

MOsley will land more and very possible KO pacquiao.
