76-74 Talarek is how I’d score it

    Round 8

Talarek is jabbing into the out-turned curvatures of Karpets' fist padding, not able to bypass them and get a piece of the face beyond and yet paving the way for Talarek to scrub his chest with uppercuts. Karpets doing far more clinching than countering now. Just clinching every few seconds, killing time, surviving. Talarek is the only person actually throwing punches, even thought most of his are thrown away frivolously with no real guile or care. Talarek is crossing his arms over his face as Karpets occasionally feels emboldened to flap at him with a body to head combo. Karpets sprays a few hooks out at the head and his arm just collides with Talarek's neck. Talarek pumping his way in with jabs, working the body.

    10-9 Talarek

    76-74 Talarek

Talarek could maybe hang with Kamil Szeremata (who in February of 2016 retired Karpets after 5 rounds, on cuts) or even Damian Jonak to become the biggest fish in the "not ready for prime time/not world class" domestic middleweight pond - but Maciej Sulęcki would probably send Talarek, Karpets, Jonak and Szeremata into the ER together in one ambulance if he fought them back to back on the same night.

I wonder if the Adam Cieślak making his pro debut on the undercard is kin to Michał Cieślak - and furthermore, wonder how Michał spiraled from being a hot prospect/contender in 2015-16 all the way down to barely active obscurity now. Kid just wasted a good chunk of his prime/late twenties. :dunno

Alright, how long are they going to drag out this commercial break? I just want to know if there's any swing bout action!

Some brief write-ups on boxing.pl tonight, filling in some of the gaps:

    * Robert Talarek (21-13-2, 13 KO) probably pointed to the average Artiom Karpeca (21-9, 6 KO). The Pole, however, presented himself far below the possibilities, committing a lot of mistakes in the ring. The Ukrainian was counted in the second and fifth round, but eventually managed to reach the last gong. After eight weak scenes, the judges announced Talarek's win over 78-72, 78-73 and 79-71 . Robert will once again present himself in Wieliczka with a much more demanding rival.

    * Mateusz Kowalczyk (1-0, 0 KO) debuting on points Krzysztof Stawiarski (2-1, 2 KO), Both men gave the fans a great show, from the first gong going to a determined war. It is a pity that there was so little clean boxing ... Kowalczyk finally won the deserved - 40-36, 39-37 and incomprehensible 38-38 .

    * Jakub Dobrzyński (1-2, 0 KO) did not meet Dmitro Bereżnij (6-0, 2 KO). After four disastrous rounds, the judges pointed the advantage of the Ukrainian in a ratio of 39-37, 39-38, 38-38 .

    * Hubert Benkowski (1-0-1, 1 KO) and Patryk Milewicz (1-0-1, 1 KO) recorded a draw in direct fight, although just after the last gong it seemed that the first man's hand should go up. Eventually they decided not to break the record with any of the young boys and announced the verdict 38-38 x2 and 39-37 for Benkowski.
