Murashkin has a bloodied nose, but Smiley is by no means having it all his way at the halfway mark. Lots more grappling and incidental fouling than clean effective punching either way.

 

Gorgoń probably up on points but nobody really impressing here.

This is one sloppy and weak Belarusian; for the life of me I can't imagine how Murashkin drew with Robert Swierzbinski or edged past Norbert Dabrowski with a SD. Not that either of them are world-beaters or anything, but they both strike me as clearly a level above...this.

 

(Swierzbinski did redeem himself with a rematch a few years later, but only by a score of 58-56)

 

This one's almost over, thankfully.

 

They're slugging away in the final ninety seconds, Gorgoń in such a deep squat his knees are nearly brushing the canvas as he lobs hooks into the body and gets poked in the face with downward needling combos from Murashkin. Gum shield of Murashkin spat out, probably on purpose. His nose is gushing blood and Gorgoń is cornering him every few seconds, no let-up. They keep sloppily flurrying away until the final bell, with Gorgoń more than once grabbed by the head and guided into a face-plant into the middle ropes, needing the ref to pull him upright.

UD for... Murashkin! Wow! Couple of real curveballs on this card! First they screw a heavy underdog foreigner (Gogo) to deprive him of pulling his record to an even .500, and then give another one a gift to allow him to do the same.

(Gogoberashvili entered 9-10-3 and should've gotten the nod over Stretskyy; Murashkin now improves to - an undeserving, IMO - 4-4-1)

 

Mind you, I wasn't really scoring that one, but no way did Murashkin pitch a shutout.

 

Some kickboxing match is the co-main event.
