What? Lock got outboxed that night, didn't you see all those Jabs snapping Locks head back. Look at Locks swollen face after that fight. PDL won by a wide margin matey. But to answer Freddys question. De Leon has a punchers chance and will have to weather an early storm and survive the early rounds to take the fight into the deep waters where his chances in catching Gamboa are more likely. PDL has looked good in his recent fights and it's probably cuz he has been using his jab alot more. But I still think Gamboa can beat De Leon with a UD victory.
The level of opposition Deleon has faced is way better than Gamboa.Daniel has only lossed to the elites in that division. Is Gamboa in the same league as Juan Ma or Caba? we'll find out.Gamboa is untested.De le will test that man's chin and heart fa sho like he did Escalante.
Gamboa is a better boxer but he is suspect in the chin department. The tactic againt Gamboa is to tire him out in the early rounds and increase the output in the later rounds, seeking KO. DeLeon is not that kind of fighter. He is seeking KO from the get go. I would favour Gamboa.
FREDDYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY????!?!?!?!?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! U R not doing crack in that old stinky pipe for fight night, r u??????? Beer and/or other drinks = ok... crack and/or any hallucinogens = not good 4 saturday night boxing cards!!
Gamboa is faster, more skilled, just a better fighter. If this had been asked a month ago, no-one would have given Ponce a chance - I still don't. Gamboa not living up to expectations in his last fight doesn't mean he's overrated/a fraud/exposed or any of those other words so popular on here. A great ko win for Ponce doesn't make him some sort of unstoppable monster either. Gamboa stops him without much trouble.
We can the see now that Gamboa is showing he is younger, fresher and a bit faster for Ponce. I say De Leon got more sluggish when he went feather but noticeaby he changed into a more mature fighter like he had shown patience on creating that punch to drop Escalante. Both has punching power, any of the two could score a KD, but still experience and maturity will make the difference. I pick Ponce for a KO win.
