very close fight... speedster in Sasakul and boxer puncher Pongskalek.... going with Sasakul by a very narrow margin...
I liked Sasakul a lot. He was very slick and gifted technically circa his fights with Yuri, but his career ended up being very disappointing....taking what seemed like a gimme against a young, severely drained, and frankly not very good yet version of Pac, fighting in 2nd/3rd gear and ending up getting himself knocked out while seemingly comfortably in front. Then basically doing nothing after it other local keep busy fights against cans. I remember a long while back, a thai poster talking about him being someone with little dedication for the sport at a high level. Maybe we were lucky to even get the Arbachakov fights out of him. He's a better fighter in most areas technically than the more workmanlike, upright Pong was. It seems unfair to go against a committed pro who was a good solid champ for a long time, against someone who we only got a few great performances out of, but I do think Pong has the wrong style to bother the Sasakul that fought Arbachakov, a fighter who was still better than Pong in most respects in their first bout (which could have gone either way). Maybe he'll throw more caution to the wind with it being a domestic showdown, but there's a good chance he just gets finessed and turned all fight, imo.
I think the end of the career of Pongsaklek is more sad than Chatchai Sasakul specially his fight with Sonny Boy Jaro.
