Yuri was simply a different level of fighter IMO. I think Sasakul was better than Pong, and Yuri managed to beat him in a highly technical affair even while starting to slide. I don't think Pong offers up anything to beat Yuri with, who I'd favor by late stoppage, maybe Decision.
Thank for the reply. I do agree Sasakul is technically superior to Pong but I do think Pong is a well schooled fighter who would hang in there with Yuri till the end.
Pongskalek is past his best but i think that a fight between him and Sasakul would have been a superfight in Thailand except for the years between the two fighters... Sasakul was frozen out of the division after his loss to Manny but he still was great.... I think that Arbachakov beats Pong in a head to head prime matchup...
A peak Yuri wins this, definately. I do think however that Pong goes the distance, but he will make a trip or two to the canvas in the process and will lose widely on points in what would be a fairly one-sided albeit entertaining technical contest.
Judging by recent comments, I wouldnt be surprised by Pong being favoured to win it. I aint seen alot of Pong, but Yuri has to be favoured here. The best Flyweight inr ecent years for my money.
It has to be Pong. He beat Koki Kameda, after all. A lock for top 10 all time Flyweight status after that miraculous win.
