It's the Pong/Jerry fight I just posted... Any information you could give would be great, as I literally have no one else to ask and I want to be able to provide a little information to people potentially seeking out Pong fights.

I speak English and a bit of Spanish and that's it, makes it hard to be such a big fan of lower weight and foreign boxing. Even going through old stuff from Latin America I'm like... man, I wish my Spanish was better. :hang I actually ask/force my Guatemalan partner to translate Spanish boxing documentaries and matches for me sometimes. She, uh.... loves it. :campeon2::lol:

Was he hit clean much, or even worse, rattled? I see his opponent is in his mid 30's himself and has a near .500 record...

The footage that was posted earlier. Pong has no balance, other guy doesn't look to have any killer instinct

Those Thai promoters can chuck a card together in no time

It runs pretty deep on even a cultural level, if I have any degree of levity or understanding about it. (Probably not) It's extremely... ingrained.

Honestly it used to be very bad. And your right about the lack of medical quality, that's a reason that up until about 5 years ago many top Muay Thai or KB guys who fought in Europe or K1 etc didn't fancy fighting in Thailand. Petrosyan comes to mind....

Lot of top tier Thais from the golden age still have terrible medical problems to this day as they had inferior or very little quality medical treatment after injury in the ring. The responsibility of the promoter and gym handlers, it was routinely either skimped or sought out at the lowest price! I have a friend who was a good level fighter in the Golden Age, he got a nasty injury in the ring, cheap low grade medical after the fight and to this day ha no control of his neck, it lols around his shoulders with no control....sitting on the back of a motorcycle with him is terrifying!

His opponet looks over 40. Yeah, very rusty off balance, slow and loose. At least physically he still kind looks ok, most Thais blow up dramatically once they quit.

I kind of feel bad for Comput, he was faced with an implausible Cinderella Man chance to pull even at .500 and glitz up his resume (on paper) with a name like Pong's all in one fell swoop, and sounds like he came bitterly close.

Remember that guy that made a name for himself by doing a hatchet job on Pong at the tail end of the Thai's several year championship run? Sonny Boy Jaro I think his name was... He looked like he underwent a complete physical transformation right around the time the quality of his performances improved dramatically... and then I believe he tested positive for roids.

Sounds like boxing in the 80's and earlier to be honest... When you hit the 1940's and 50's in boxing it's just about as bad as it gets for this century, unless you want to jump back to the days of Sam Langford and the like going blind as a result of untreated boxing injuries. But even to this day we have warriors like Israel Vasquez losing eyes years after they leave the sport behind, because of the damage already incurred on their bodies...

What exactly did you need to know?

I just watched the last round of the 2nd fight you posted. Not clear on what you want to know? Nothing really interesting gets said by the commentator in that round. Just how it's the last round of 8 and talks about what punches both guys are throwing. Later I can watch the whole fight and listen out for any inserting tid bits. He does mention Samson Dutchboy gym and warns how he will change weight class. Samson better known as Samson Issan is a Thai top 10 ATG for MT.

That's funny about your partner, when I ran my youtube channel I'd get her to check if what I heard was correct.....maybe that's why she's my ex now!
