I was saddened to see Jones get knocked out like that, but I was pleased that it now means Jones/Hopkins II will never happen. At a time when Hopkins had no name, he demanded an unrealistic cut of the money, to avoid the fight. Hopkins finally came to an agreement years after...coincidentally after one if his biggest career wins and after any doubts that Jones was absolutely done, had been thrown out of the window.

Will Hopkins, who is the main attraction of the division, now choose to fight a real threat in Chad Dawson? Doubtful. "Poor Bernard Hopkins"? Give me a break...

    Jones/Hopkins II was a joke.

He's ****in 43 years old. I don't think you could hardly call him a ducker... If he only fights and exposes overrated, over-hyped tomato cans like Kelly Pavlik  the rest of his career, that would be fine with me...:good

Why is his age relevant? Age is just a number.

He may be 43, irrelevant, but he's also the best 175lber in the world and a P4P fighter, relevant. He should fight the best.

I actually kind of agree with you.

So does that mean that Shane is equally as ****ed up for avoiding PW?

Well Mosley is chasing a bigger fight, so I can't judge him the same. If he beats Berto and Pacauiao/Mayweather is signed, then the best fight for Mosley is Williams. In that case, I think I would judge him the same.

Right now though, Hopkins has no better fight than Dawson. Talks of Haye are a pipedream and can't happen until 2011 anyway.

Hopkins can do whatever he wants, period. He's already had his major career being one of the greatest middleweights of all time with a gigantic title reign. Let him do anything. I don't care. He wanted a mega-money fight with Roy, and that's fine with me. Hell, he could still fight Roy and it'd be fine with me.

    Made me smile. Thank you.

  9. Not so certain the fight is out the window just yet.

It's what these 2 fighters need to finally retire. What... like 15 years in the making?

These accident moments happen in this sport.

Don't be so sure it will not happen. Hopkins might say it is still going to happen. I think Hopkins/Jones was torpedoed last night by the Danny Green loss, but Hopkins mind might still be saying get the fight.
