The ease in which he hit Joyce was alarming though, as a previous poster mentioned Zhang wasn't even having to set his shots up, just straight jabs catching clean everytime. Perhaps it could of been interesting if it had gone in to the later rounds as Joyce's chin was holding up. If the eye hadn't of swollen could he have turned the corner in the later rounds as Zhang tired? Possibly, but the way that fight was going i suspect he would of just taken more punishment. Disappointing for Joyce but fair play for taking a challenging fight, it would be nice if we got more fights like this
AJ would have to throw some combinations to beat Joyce, something he fails to do enough of lately. Joyce would keep coming and what would he have to worry about if AJ is throwing a few jabs and the odd right hand. Joyce would make AJ fight at a pace he would hate. Joyce would wear him down and stop him imo.
it’s called unemployment. When people are stuck at home and have nothing to do they just sit online all day and forums like this become their main place for social interaction. They don’t have anything good going on so get their buzz vicariously through boxers (in this case it’s Joshua). Plenty of work out there so you have to wonder with these types of scroungers. Probably criminal record and no education etc I mean putting z at the end of some words isn’t edgy. It’s just sad.
Joyce looked awful. Looked like he'd never boxed a leftie and got hit with everything. He looked slow, there was no snap in his punches (not there is normally) and bar one round where he got in close and tried to work the body he didn't much success and Zang did as he pleased. Was the lost weight an issue? Maybe but the defensive lapses that most have commented were there for all to see. He can come again but that was a bad loss where all his attributes from previous fights were null and void.
Who tf is a fan of a promotional company? Am I missing something? We’re BOXING fans, I couldn’t give a flying **** about Frank Warren or Eddie hearns pockets. Weirdo
Yeah don't get this fascination with people getting behind promotional companies ahead of fighters. It's not football lol.
AJ to me is reluctant to throw combinations when has hand speed to deal with. With Joyce that really isn't an issue. Without the head movement I see Joyce just walking onto shots.
I think it's hard to argue with that after the Zhang fight. You do wonder why AJ didn't make the Joyce fight though.
