Boxing audience has diminished greatly within the last 10 years. I think most of it is due to people tired of bought fights, crazy judge decisions and promoters guarding their fighters and scared to lose the 0. If they know thats affecting the sport why do they keep doing it knowing itll cause the sport will die?

Too much Floyd blueprint zero craving marinating overpaid duckers in my opinion leads to a lack of big fights. Add in standard corruption and too many belts and it leads to the crappy situation we are in.

For the promoters, managers, etc it's just a steady income for them, put their fighter too soon or even when he is ready equaling a loss ruins revenue, it's just business for them & nothing more.

It's called " sports entertainment " for a reason. Brands are built up, be it a fighter, hockey team, NBA team, you name it, and then the fans get fleeced. Rinse and repeat. The people in charge of boxing don't give a rats ass. They're still making money hand over fist. It will never change. I don't know about the rest of boxing fans out there but I pulled the plug on PPVs after watching Pac / Floyd. ( full disclosure, I have bought at least 2 fights since then but I can't remember what ones ) A decent competitive PPV, now referred to as a " Super Fight " is basically a hundred bucks in my market and just isn't worth it. Saw an article somewhere with Bob Arum expressing resentment that people were having PPV parties as he sees that as lost revenue, just part of the reason PPV fees have gotten so ridiculous. Unfortunately there's enough casuals around now to foot the bill. I still try to follow the sport but after following it for over 40 years now I have become disillusioned. I'll either watch youtube replays or find some other source to enjoy the sport.

For all the oldies that still follow the sport, try this experiment on your own. Ask all your friends and acquaintances, co workers etc... if they follow boxing. My bet is you'll meet more people that used to watch it than currently do.

I actually think that racism and tribalism ruined boxing.

One point no one mentioned despite the influx of crazy ludicrous decisions is Why haven't the state commissions dragged the so called judges in to watch a tape & then explain how they reached such a verdict.??? Only one judge I can recall had that happen She was called in to explain her 114-114 draw card believe she was fired over that.
To be honest I believe the Commissions are only interested in making $$$$$$$$$$$$$ Its a business to them
They control the sport, it seems they can do anything they want No One polices them.
I refuse to pay $100 to watch a PPV I can predict the result of, barring accidents, prior to the fight depending on the participants. If other people started doing this theyd have to do something. Boxing seems to be turning into the WWE as Sports ENTERTAINMENT
