No world tour, no press conferences, no HBO face off, not a lot advertising in the media, both fighters are very quiet, etc. etc. One of the biggest fights in boxing, and basically the promotion for it is zero. I think the May fight would have done more than 2.5M PPV, now I doubt it will be higher than 1.3 as the previous one. That’s why UFC is taking over, they are doing much better job in the media, not to mention as there is only belt the necessary and expected fights are happening, fighters are not ducking each other, and also the judges for this fight are still a big question mark..
2.5? There is no way they would double the first fight. Your prediction is a gross overestimation. But the rematch definitely had potential of doing better than the first as controversy sells. Mayweather is the only man to do over 2mil. And UFC is not taking over. They are in their own lane. It's not like every boxing fan will suddenly switch sports. They are also struggling with the PPV sales and ratings(but have definitely done much better with PPVs than boxing recently has).
Oscar and gbp didn't want to go on a tour cuz all they would be doing is having to field questions and deflect criticism of all their cheating ways. I've seen 2 pressers since the drugs bust and both made for uncomfortable times for Oscar and Canelo.
Golden Fishnet Promo does not want the whole world to know that Canelo was juicing so they're keeping it a hush-hush... Less promo less exposure Plus they can't answer the 'It's the MEAT Clem' trivia
some good points made and then spoilt it with the idea that the UFC is taking over. I don't understand why people still say this rubbish. its been said for like 10 years+
Yeah and that's why they keep getting irate when Ggg or Sanchez brings it up. ItIt's not disrespectful it's just they don't want it mentioned.
Dunno, but I agree, **** promotion. It's like they're hoping I miss it. UFC is currently complaining about being in one of the worst holes in UFC history.
