He was what he was man. He didnt have the skills to be an "A" fighter. He was a "B" level fighter who made a lot of money. I think he over-acheived to be honest with you.
Hatton is now always weight drained and guy like Bradley can surely do a ''Mayweather like'' win on Hatton, plus, after the Pacman debalce Hatton may never be the same, in fact maybe he was damaged for good against May. But I agree, except maybe Bradley, he can beat most of the top 140. But after his utterly destruction by the hand of Pac, he shoud retire.
No way he beat KT, Castillo, Urango, Maussa, Stewart, Collazo, Paulie etc. He took on all the best and he beat most of them. Ricky Hatton was a great fighter, not a good fighter a great fighter he was the best Junior Welterweight for 4 years and he took that title from Kostya Tszyu who was just supposed to destroy Ricky Hatton, he didn't. Hatton was a great fighter.
Retire please, before you sustain additional brain damage. And he really puts on weight fast, fat ****
He was the undisputed best at 140 for a good while. Still top-5 to 10 at 140. He was overhyped, but to say he was JUST a hype job is ******ed. Sam Peter, David Haye, Ortiz, Mike Grant and to a lesser extent Gatti, Pavlik and Tarver have all been more over-hyped (compared to their actual achievements) in recent years than Hatton.
