i truly was putting on the pom poms for ruslan, but to see the outcome of the fight was sickening. i did not expect him to win but i was hoping that he would have put up more of a fight than he did. he just stood there right in front of wlad and let him tee off. i blame it on his trainers as well as himself not being smart enough to move to his right. there was a couple of times that he did very briefly during the fight and disrupted wlad's attack. he seemed like he broke wlad's defenses when he did this. if ruslan steps to the right it would for one moved him out of the way of wlad's right hand and 2 would've allowed ruslan to throw right hooks to the body and head of wlad and making wlad adjust. ruslan then would maybe be able to work in the left hand. that was the best hope for ruslan to even have a chance. although the height and reach differentials made it look like little mac vs. mike tyson. the jab proved extremly effective for wlad and probably could have beat ruslan with his left hand by itself. the punch totals were lopsided im sure. the only thing i saw good for ruslan is that he allowed himself not to be knocked out but at the same time i don't think wlad had any intention to do so anyway. i think wlad was going to be happy coasting to a unanimous dec.

no he trained 12 weeks for Valeuv...not for Wlad.... :rofl:rofl

i agree...no excuses...the guy got owned and embarrassed. thats what happens when you actually fight someone that is good in todays heavyweight division if you are Chagev.

i was really puuling for chagaev too. i can't stand the klit**** brothers, i do not think that wlad won because he was just that good. wlad won because ruslan was just that bad. i saw another thread floating around here about ruslan making top 5 lists. im not sure about yall but there just aint no way. wlad doesnt even make a top 5 list. todays crop of heavys just are not that impressive.

He used more head movement then most of Wlad's opponents that I can recall. Not as much as he should have, but more than most.

When he was on the outside, he tried to use head movement to avoid the jab and the right.

He tried to duck and bob and weave his way inside, and failed. He tried to duck and lunge in with a punch but didn't have the speed or accuracy.

I look at fighters like Tyson or Frazier, who could duck and weave and then lunge forward with a devastating and accurate punch. If Chag had even this extra asset in his toolset then the fight would have been less one-sided.

I don't agree that he just stood like a punching bag. He tried to be evasive, and failed. He tried to move in and failed. He should have tired more often, but the end result would have been the same. He did become a bit of a punching bag later in the fight - when he already knew that he had failed.

I thought it was pretty obvious he didnt even try moving to his right. If he could have moved to his right, ducked under a jab, he could have landed a right hook to the body and then went upstairs with the left.

It seems when people get in from of the brothers they get hypnotized and cant move!

i didnt say anything about him not bob and weaving he did plenty of that in fact he did so much of it he looked a bit confused on what to to do next. im talking about actually steping to the right and keep steping that way. therefore giving himself a shot at actually creating oppurtunities for himself. not only that ;ruslan actually moving his entire body to the right forces wlad to cut the ring off changing the fight altogether .
