Poor ticket sales for Mayweather-Marquez fight

So you're now saying that Mayweather said he wants to fight Marquez because he's a PPV megastar and not because he's P4P#2 and Pacquiao's #1 foe?

all i'm saying is that mosely was an option for floyd before/same time juan was in the picture. and the bigger fight = shane.

btw, theres nothing wrong with floyd-marquez. i'm quite looking forward to it.

 

That's true as far as being bigger but I would say as a fight to promote a future fight with Pacquiao, Marquez is the better opponent. Pacquiao's last two opponents are Mayweather opponents too and a win over Marquez(who gave Pac hell twice) promotes it more in general I think.

Mosley is better off getting a rematch with Cotto if he beats Clottey till that's done. Mayweather isn't going anywhere, he has signed to have 5 fights anyway and will be here for a good 2/3 years if all goes good.

 

Those two are easy to answer. The recession played a huge part in the numbers. Because of the financial trouble most people around the world were/are in they couldn't afford to each buy the ppv themselves and started grouping together thus lowering the amount of PPV buys. Simple enough.

 

Even if that's the case still it doesn't prove Mayweather isn't a PPV attraction like many claim.

 

Thats a bunch of bull****. PROVE that boxing PPV #s have suffered from the recession. If anything every fight on PPV does better than expected.
