Floyd needs Pac to make any real money and he knows it. Pac is the bigger draw right now and he doesn't even need Floyd. Floyd needs to step up to the welterweights, Mosley has been waiting for his ass for a while now.

They aren't talking about sell out in terms of every tickets. The big $$$ tickets are what most analyst basing the fights sucess or failure. The numbers for these aren't favorable.

For the record I give fighters the benefit of the doubt. If he says he is injured then I take his word for it.

Casual fans don't have any idea about a lineal title... They don't even know about the weighclasses to start with....

Even if they did.... that doesnt mean they know what it is a stake....

A question for you.... can you tell me what is the percentage of casual fans for every big fight...... How can you determine the percentage of the casual fans?

FMJ situation now is different with that of Baldomir. He had his boiling mouth proclaiming he's the Cash Cow and that he's not fighting for bragging rights but money. Imagine how it would be for FMJ it this billed megafight will push through only to FLOP in sales? Imagine also how it would be for FMJ to cancel the fight due to POOR ticket sales? :rofl:rofl

Imagine what's its effect to his future fights specially with MP?

Ticket sales underperforming is expected, given the lack of interest from the usual paying audiences (who usually want to see bloody wars) and the sponsors backing out because of the economy. Maybe Floyd really got injured, and it's a blessing for him because it would bring the possibility to move it to a much better date like Mexico's Independence Day, where GBP expects to sell more.

Its only a few weeks before the fight and promoters WILL panic when they still don't have any sponsors to clear the cheques for the fighters. Floyd's injury is a godsend to make better plans.

Personally, Floyd's promotions ****ed up IMO:
-He calls it a "tune-up fight"
-chooses July in Vegas, when the weather's hot
-says he's a great big man compared to Marquez as a good small man,
-goes to the UK (football country) to promote himself (who KO'd Britain's Hatton) against a mexican.
-He's trump card is being undefeated, and it's just absurd to use that card in a tune-up fight he is expected to win, and by points.

There is nothing much to sell. Marquez would have a better chance selling the fight to sponsors in Mexico (and I hope he alone receives payment for that).

On that note, hope floyd recovers from his injury. And if Marquez pushes for a fight with Pacquiao instead, that will be much better news to me.

I'm pretty sure they can determine it. PPV records of people who buys fight. There are those who only buy big hype fights and then there are those who buy fights regardless, like me. So yes they can determine it.

Keep imagining. I'll just wait till the fight is over and PPV numbers are out.

I asked you the question because I always hear or read about the casual fans contribution to a PPV envent, but I have never seen figures.....

I have many friends who are casual fans and I can say that they have never, and I mean never, bought a PPV event, but they have watched with me many boxing fights..... Tyson, Lewis, DLH, Vargas, Tito, etc etc etc.,

So who are those casual fans that buy those PPV events?

On the other hand I have seen and talked to people who are boxing fans who actually order fights all the time.... even if they don't like the boxer... but they want to see him lose the fight....

...... And people who only order fights if they think they are going to be good.... they are boxing fans but they make sure they get the best bang for their bucks....

I dont buy the fact that the fight was postponed due to poor ticket sales......

....as somebody mentioned, Pac-Hatton did'nt sell out till the last week......

Ticket sales for this fight would have undoubtedly picked up the closer to the fight we got.....and as you've mentioned, you were looking foward to 24/7, of which the first episode would have been like the beggining of the real promotion to the fight.

......you would think that ticket sales would have picked up tremendously after those episodes, as those episodes are seen by the mainstream public.....

PH|LLA - I feel where you're coming from .... But my point is the headline of this thread "Poor ticket sales is what caused Mayweathers Injury!"

And the FightHype article quotes an anonymous source - That could be Ronald Mcdonald for all we know.

There is absolutely NO evidence of any kind that would suggest, Floyds injury is a FAKE. There is absolutely NO concrete evidence that ticket sales up to this point are bad. All we have is the statement of fact regarding Floyd's injury - And mounds upon mounds of conjecture, speculation and false statements. :huh

Its like someone struck a match -- and a group of fanatics used that to start a blazing fire. :fire

They turned this fight down PRIOR to accepting it. Klitchko tickets are already sold. 60 K's worth.
