Sounds about right. I'm going to have to go back and look now hahahaha. I had to do an hour or two of research to get to the bottom of Joey!!!!
I just went back and found it. KuRuPT put everything nicely into perspective with his late posts. The odd head will always be buried in the sand of course.
He really did. He's a top poster and it's a shame he doesn't post much at this point in time. He must have a life or something
I believe in "Styles make Fights" but only to a point. If both fighters are of similar levels, my experience has been that styles will usually win the day...but not always. And sometimes determining a fighter's exact style is not always an easy task. And some of them change styles as they get older.
He didn't. There's only one Foreman. I'm just think Foreman will be at a disadvantage in quickness. Though Foreman is probably a little stronger I would say punching power is a wash. It would be a barnburner. I used to be in the camp that thought Foreman runs him out of the ring based on the Frazier analogy.
I don't dispute handspeed. Iron Mike is clearly much faster. Only thing is, I don't think it will help Mike much in this case. I think George is too tough.
He did, Tysons chin is one of the most underrated chins, his only stoppages came where he was absolutely knackered and had already taken a hellacious beating
Again I have to strongly disagree. Formans chin was rock solid. Exhaustion was his Achilles heel at one time never his chin
I think comparing Foreman's chin to Tyson's is ridiculous. How many times was Foreman stopped as compared to Tyson? Did Tyson ever get floored and nearly stopped only to not only come back but to stop the other guy? The answer is absolutely not.
Foreman knew how to bully and muscle smaller fighters into range. Mike had problems with the uppercut, and that was George's specialty. Another problem: Mike was kind of ****ed against people who were better at intimidation than he was, or whom had no fear of him...Holyfield bitched him out bad in the rematch staredown. Guys like Foreman and Liston would have done the same, hand speed or no.
right! and when you ask them why that style would throw off a fighter, unable to cope with it, they suddenly clam up. they just want to act like they are on the ball
Yes. I dont believe none of that junk about him ducking someone like Charley Burley, a jab and clinch artist
