I have no problem with Porter getting the decision but that 118-108 scorecard was WAY out of line, IMO. I didn't see that fight...
This was the correct score. Broner didn't really do squat in most rounds to cover the gap in activity despite Porter's typical ineffectiveness.
I thought that was the best scorecard of the three. I had it one round closer but it was an accurate reflection of the fight. The scorecard having Porter winning by 2 points was an abomination.
:good And without the knockdown I don't think he won that round, so 119-108 is fair as well to Kell Brook Junior.
I agree. I just kinda gave him that round cause I figured it's not like Porter needed it. No idea how Byrd thought Broner won 4 other rounds besides the 12th though. Oh yeah they are sleeping w/ Al Haymon.
I think the 12th round is a good example how a round can be scored 9-9. Porter won that round in its entirety. I also gave Broner the 8th round so it would be 118-108 in the end. I believe the judges scored the last round 10-8 because they automatically give the round to the boxer who scores a knock down, which in my opinion is not the correct way to go, and also it was a too one sided fight and usually judges tend to give the last round to the loser if he puts in a little more effort than the rounds he put in the earlier rounds he got dominated, perhaps as a way of appreciation of him for surviving until the final bell.
118-108 is a good card. Broner had some rounds where he landed some nice counters, but none of his punches fazed Porter at all with the exception of the 12th round, he just didn't land/throw enough at all, and Porter was basically bullying him around the ring. The rounds that Broner did "better" in he just didn't do enough to compensate for what Porter was doing to him on the flipside. I think a lot of people just flat gave Broner a few rounds that he didn't win simply because he finally did anything rather than actually winning the rounds.
118-108 was the right score, only round broner won was the 12th, and that that was SOLELY because of the KD.
It sounds closer to what I thought Broner did. I only gave Broner 2 rounds in my mental tally. The second IIRC and the knockdown. That's it! It wasn't like he dominated the 2nd round either.
