I'm a bigger fan of Broner than I am of Porter, but sheit like this makes me want to pull for Porter.

Is the last weigh in on the morning or soon before the fight?

I just looked up the rules. Yes the IBF has a 10lb rehydration rule, but for the morning of the bout. By the time fight night comes about most boxers have definitely surpassed this. Now knowing this it seems like a bit of sour g****s on the part of Porter considering that this rule is universal and has been in effect for some time now. Porter will likely surpass 154 on fight night and be fully hydrated.

Not that the rehydration rule is any good, but it is universal thus fair.

Don't be suprised to see Broner not bother to make it.

All fights should have a 10 lb rehydration clause to be honest

So 105 lb straws and 200 lb cruisers should have the same rehydration limit? :think

Makes no sense. It's basically twice the weight to the 105 lbers. Has to be a % of the division limit.

He was 154 a month before the fight.

Seems right on spot to me

I've proposed 5% before. In that case a WW can't be more than 155 on the day of the fight. Most boxers would need be forced to move up to their natural weight class.

So he can come into that at 154, then rehydrate properly up until the fight? Not such a huge disadvantage if so. Really fancy him to do what Maidana did if he's not massively drained.
