Just bringing this one up for remembrance since SP is the hot topic, a little-talked about gem of a fight. It was like impending doom going into the ring and the total destruction that followed was still so satisfying. Almost like AB-Chino in a way., So what was the magic man thinking going into that one?? Huge fail!
But really though as a so-called expert commentator, He really thought the X’s and 0’s lined up in his favor? Everybody knew what was gonna happen
No. Not even close. I don't recall many giving Paulie legit shot, but I don't remember anyone expecting Shawn to just steamroll him. And Porter was on a string of decision wins, including a draw with Julio Diaz.
Interesting, I just remember thinking Paulie was long past it by that point, and had no power anyway, to keep off that relentless style of Porter. Even though he was getting decisions it was evident that Porter was an in your face type of fighter. All I know is I was scratching my head at the time and I knew Paulie was going to get wrecked
I love seeing Paulie take beatings. Kinda wish he didn't retire so that I can see him take more beatings.
