I gained alot of admiration for Porter and his old man in this fight. It looked to me like they decided to take a strategic risk to agin the advantage of surprise by mixing up boxing and brawling and they made it work. Just. It looked to me like Danny couldn't quite keep up and legit lost a close one. I would not have been outraged if they called it a tie or the other way close. Great fight. Was really impressed by both guys and yes, I absolutely give team Porter a better chance on Sunday against Spence and Bud than I did on Friday. ****ing love boxing. :ole:

Ive never seen Porter box on the outside like he did last night in the middle rounds. He actually BOXED to get in side. That was his best performance. I agree he might lose to Spence and Thurman but he just as likely could beat them which is something nobody thought on Friday but today many are more open to the possibility. We shall see. I really hope the Spence fight gets made ASAP!

I've never had a problem with Porter but nothing he did was special in the ring last night imo. He won the same way he's won every single fight in the past, by outworking his opponents and get rough on the inside. Garcia landed the cleaner shots and in the rounds he won was more decisive. I had it a draw but I can make a case for a swift win, but he should have been more consistent and he le t it slip away.

There is a first time for everything as they say. I was shocked that Porter was Boxing cleanly and on the outside to boot.
He has an unlimited gas task as he is designed for 15 rounds

He was ok , nothing special imo. His attempt at boxing from range didn't work out to well so can't give him much credit for that.

Most of his work in close was reckless when he fell back to his usual style and there were a lot of times he moved his arms about in the pocket just so he looked busier , but nothing was really catching Garica clean apart from some good body shots here and there.
Garcia's work was to body and head was much cleaner and efficient which is why i thought he nicked it.

btw , nearly all of Porters body blows landed on Dannys belt line, the same shots Ward landed on Kovalev were called low blows by the haters :hollering::icon_pc:

So you want to watch an in form Porter fight Brook just because he is much more likely to win now?

Brook v Porter were very evenly matched at the time, that's what made it a great fight....And Brook proved he's the better fighter of the two.

Porter didn't want the rematch with Brook.
Now he will get picked apart in brutal fashion by Spence.

Funny you say that as I thought a few times Porter was close to IF NOT throwing below the belt. He is a crack baby all over the opposition and sticky as wet FK to boot

Porter is one of those rare guys in that he can beat any elite welter. That's if the welter does not come into the ring 100%. One must always bring their A game to beat Porter.

Same old Porter. Swarmed. Danny was the sharper puncher. Porter got credit for missing.

Porter even got him with a few pull counters. He could have won the fight easy if he didnt slow down so badly and lose all his speed and most of his snap that he was forced to basically gain all his points inside. Might be because he's not quite acclimated to the style, but with his speed and will if he can maintain that style for a few more rounds he'll be better for it. With the mauler style in his back pocket as a backup plan.

porter was impressive, the better the opposition, the more effective shawns style has to be.
the brawling style against a good level is looknig to get picked off, but he switched up his style and made garcia looked tired.
