I don't know who to pick in this fight. Both these guys are so mentally strong and have versetile styles. Plus they have experience sparing against each other. So I really have no clue as to what parts of each guys game would get tested and which elements would shine. Apparently when they spared orriginally Porter would get the better of Thurman but after a few days Thurman had made the adjustments and improved his boxing. That was a couple of years ago. Thurman has improved a lot since then.
Fighting Keith Thurman is a dangerous voluntary defense of that belt. Hell of a fight if it gets made.
Ya brook must not like how this has changed from bad to worse for him. I mean the Alexander fight was a winnable fight. Alexander had a history of being out manuvered and out boxed by bradley. He was much smaller then Kell. And he was basically an athletic guy with a one demensional style. Now the guys Kell has to face are both young, hungry, mutli-dementional fighters. Porter is naturally way bigger and has a very very good chin. He has a very good inside game, which we all know gives brook trouble and he has good movement and boxing skills, having been a top amateur. Thurman as also a top amatuer, has boxing ability, size and is probably the best two handed puncher in division. Point is IMO they both seem like bigger problems then Alexander was.
That might be more of a GBP agenda then a Shawn Porter agenda. Shawn is actually a self promoted guy that doesn't have any contract with GBP. I was listening to an interview with his father on Danete's boxing nation and there were tons of names that they were looking at and Thurman wasn't necissarily tops on the list. Apparently the two of them are friends.
Kell is having a fight in Liverpool because he wants to keep the rust at bay while waiting for a shot at the IBF. Porter is having a voluntary, so Kell has to wait. he isn't doing it by choice. if it was up to Kell, he'd be fighting Porter next. that's why i'm calling it bull**** because fighters are stepping in before him without earning it. i mean, how long has this mandatory business been going on now?? it's ridiculous. he should be getting that shot NOW!
So let me get this straight... Porter would rather face One Time before Brook? That doesnt seem logical to me.
Both fighters are good, Thurman as usual needs to go for the KO, because the powers to be has it for him :verysad If Thurman stays undefeated, both Mayweather and Pacman have no PPV future in the Welterweight, as both will be exposed as old hasbeens...With 154 getting very dangerous & stacked by big sharks, its safer to get rid of Thurman, that way super PPV between hasbeens can be justified. Thurman has to make sure he stops all his opponents or take a mini retirement and let the hasbeens cash out...:verysad Just the truth, same applies to Hopkins...thanks for serving time to face the contnders as often as old warriors did or GTFO :smooch
Porter is a big Welter, in reality Porter can beat Bradley, Pacman & give Mayweather life & Death. Anyways boxing is meant to be this way, only one of those Young contenders will survive & become a real Welterweight Undisputed Champion. The P4P hasbeens proved to be the weakest Welterweight titleholders in history :-(
I doubt if this fight will ever happen, but if it were to happen it would be a good fight.............
Wow, that would be great if Thurman-Porter was on the Mayweather-Khan undercard along with Maidana-Broner II. It looks like Mayweather-Khan won't be horrible after all :think...
