You mean the one Berto initiated? Clear lowered his head and moved toward Porter.

Porter did what he had to do full credit to him but it was a dirty fight the referee did a poor job. Berto had no idea how to keep Porter off of him as Porter was to strong and I think Berto himself usually relies on being phisicaly stronger than his opponent, he had no plan B. Porter also doesn't have a plan B but this time he didn't need one. Thurman will beat him more convincingly in a rematch. Porter will continue to be a nightmare for anybody in the top 10 though.

I don't know why you people keep acting like Porter isn't a good fighter. He arguably beat Keith Thurman. Even if you think Thurman won you have to admit that the fight was at least very close. There is a reason the crowd booed the decision when Thurman was announced the winner. Comments like "Porter isn't good enough to beat Thurman, Pacquiao, Spence, and Brook!" are silly.

He's 0-2 against the best.. Hopefully he can learn to throw a good jab and stop rushing in. His style isn't going to work against bigger opponents.

yea he fought a much closer and competitive fight than Garcia

I'll say he is one dimensional but his dimension is very tough to deal with. he imposes his style so well onto his opposition

crap fight that proved nothing...porter's "aggression" was mostly ineffective. Porter basically imposed his physicality on berto by crowding berto, headbutting, wrestling and bum rushing... but he didn't land effective shots. headbutts and elbows don't count as scoring blows. even the salvo that ended the fight didn't land on berto...it was a backhand push. Berto's stock didn't fall IMO, but he needs to be more active and take a couple of tune-ups that will allow him to showcase and restablish himself.

Porter is a very tough kid. He has to fight the way that he does. He lacks length and height. And he's doing pretty good fighting the way that he fights. He is one of the very best at feinting his way inside in the game today. Imo he will always be a step behind the very best at his weight.

This fight was a disappointment to me.

Don't get me wrong, it was good to see these two fight, but the way Porter controlled the fight was unfortunate.
I don't really rate Berto but thought the shots that he did land caught Porters attention.

I understand you need to do more than land 10 effective punches in a fight, but had Porter been cited for the intentional butts then this fight could have significantly better to watch and with that, more competitive.

I'm not saying Berto would have been close to winning, but atleast we would have got a gauge as to how finished he is. Porter made it so messy that it's hard to know. Being in a wrestling match like that is consuming. It sapps the life out of you and makes it impossible to throw with any real intent.

The ref was pretty **** imo. Berto deserved more from the ref...

    Just my 2c.

Never really rated Porter, he's an athletic caveman but he does deserve another title shot.

Fight went exactly as I thought it would. Porter I don't believe
purposely uses his head (like how Evander did), I think he just
tries to get into the opponents chest and wail away, he's just
a rough physical fighter. He will never be able to beat Keith or Kell
and should just forget about it. Khan, Bradley, indeed everyone else
at WW will have their hands full with him.

Berto is finished, was finished etc.....he whined way too much, a few
slow mo replays you could see him whining about butts that didn't
even happen. Berto just can't beat these type of fighters, and
honestly was looking for an easy way out of the fight. The guys
that are willing to go in, rough toe to toe and just swing, he
has no chance against . He should retire, he's approaching journeyman status.

Not sure how beating Berto, Broner, or bone and losing to Brook and Thurman warrant deserving a title shot. Not saying he won't get one, but surely he has to beat a top contender at least, especially after losing to two champions already.

He was always a journeyman. People often confused him for an elite fighter due to his physique.
