He didn't really have much choice though. If he hadn't fought he would have lost any credibility. He was at the stage where fighting Porter and losing would do his reputation no more damage than not fighting him.

I'm glad the fight is happening now. Time for Brook to step up, I hope he does well.

Brook has better technical boxing skills and hits much harder than Paulie Malinaggi - this is a really tough fight to call. Porter is very strong and unconventional. Look at what Sam Soliman did to Felix Sturm. The better "text-book" boxer doesnt always win....

Brook has got 2 months to come up with an excuse, we've already had injuries so I'm going for passport/visa problems this time.

I think people are frustrated with his stuttering career and are sceptical of him until he shows he wants to step up properly. Hopefully this is it.

I think brook can beat porter. Porter has looked good vs devon and paulies but both are light punchers so it suited his style to walk through them, he wont walk through brooks shot so easy as he can punch. Porter has looked very average until fighting devon amd paulie. We will see should be a good fight and both will be tested

Really looking forward to this fight. Hope Kell schools him Calzaghe/Lacy style.

I can honestly see it going the way of Calzaghe/Lacy. Porter beats a couple of feather fisted ww and all of a sudden his nuts are being hugged so hard he ain't gonna conceive ever again! On another post, some guy genuinely thinks he's the second coming of Shane Mosely! Heard it all before and there ain't no way he steam rolls Brook cuz Brook can counter punch. If Brook lands a few hard shots early and stops porters charge it's Brooks fight for the taking. Besides, Gilfoid already got Porter for the win so I'm betting my house on Brook!
