Porter isn't underrated and neither is he overrated. He deserves the adulation he's been getting over his recent performances. I've been highly impressed. This will be a much needed step up for Kell, I have a big question mark over his stamina and his limited ability to fight off the backfoot. He needs to give a good account of himself here, should he be able to get Porter's respect and stay composed throughout the fight he may be able to pull off the upset. To my knowledge, no word has been released about the possible venue for this fight. I would presume that Barclays Center would be the likely choice as most of the recent fights held in New York have been staged there.
Watching the Senchenko fight you can see Brook has decent power but he was rocked by Senchenko, and Senchenko did not appear to be a hard puncher. Brook actually wobbled and fell into the ropes, but regained his composure and came back to KO Senchenko in the same round. I don't believe Porter can be rocked in the same way with those types of punches from Brook.
Yeah makes sense stack the card and put it on Showtime .But considering Cotto just fought you got Brook coming in from the UK MSG would be the better option but regardless I want to get tickets for this .2 young welters on the come up going at it for a strap ..Not bad ..:bbb
Brook has cropped hair, not a perm you moron. you're Polish i take?? talking about glass jaws is something you shouldn't be talking about. so i'll just leave it at that. :rofl
:good This. People are starting to act like Porter is some sort of knock out artist because he stopped Paulie :nono Porter has a 60% KO rate- other than Mayweather who's fought at a very high level for several years that's the worst of the top 10 or so welters I believe. Also people are underestimating Brook because he had a struggle in the first Carson Jones- failing to mention how Brook was cruising in a fight he was under motivated and barley trained for until an accidental head butt left him struggling to breath and swallowing loads of blood. Yet Brook dug deep in the final stages and got himself over the line. He then rematched Jones and wiped his arse with him. Something Porter could not do in 2 fights against Julio Diaz- and most scored Diaz-Porter 1 for Diaz.
No question Paulie is not a good barometer, but some fighters get power as they mature. Porter appears to be in this mold.
Glad to hear this. Well past the time for Brook to step up, whether it was his fault it didn't happen or not, now is the time.
