Possible and probable reasons why Williams in not a p4p fighter

    I believe a case can be made for all these fighters to be higher p4p than Paul Williams based on p4p skills and resume.

    Floyd, Pac, Adamek, Bradley, Wald, Vitali, JMM, Juanma, Wonjongkam, Montiel, Hasegawa, Darchinyan (yes), Cotto, Martinez, John, Caballero, Bradley, Alexander (yes I rate wins over Urango, Witter and Corley over Williams as a whole, they both got gifts in the Kotelnik and Martinez fight respectively), Mosely, Khan, Ward, maybe even Froch, Jermain Taylor (if he has not reitred), Moreno, Perez, Hopkins, Pascal, Kessler, Rafa, Guzman, Erdei.


    You could make a decent case for many of them IMO, definitely 20 or more. I just blurted out all names I could think of in that general area of definite p4p top 10, then to be considered for the next 10 and so on.

    I had the same arguement again earlier today. Not really an arguement but debate. Guy was of the same opinion as you, he disagreed about top 20 but my post made him realise he's not top 10.

    williams is tricky. i mean he's like michael spinks (hear me out!) in that he may not look impressive, sloppy, ugly and just ready to be taken by the right opponent and yet consistently effective

    Thats a lot of effort at 4.32am in the morning. I'm sure I dont need to for the majority of them if you look at them realistically and with no bias.

    Wlad, JMM, Cotto, Mosley, Hopkins all deserve to be higher than Williams. The others should not not be.

    The reason i have mentioned the above fighters is that they have not recently lost apart from sugar shane. They have still acheived alot compared to the young guns who are still climbing their respective divisions and building their legacies while the others is solidified.

    Even though most think he lost to Maravilla, he still put on a great performance vs. an elite fighter, plus he has Margarito and the shutout over Winky on his resume, so one shitty fight doesn't put him off. But he did look terrible vs. Cinton in a fight I have Williams one round (barely), and it is utterly RIDICULOUS he got the decision, that was a serious robbery. But at the moment he's hanging in there, but much depends who he fights next and how he performs.

    How does Cotto deserve to be higher?


    He has been beaten twice (once by a guy Paul beat) since the last time Paul has lost.


    Seriously, how can you justify Cotto? Because everyone likes him?:huh
