Possible and probable reasons why Williams in not a p4p fighter

    There are a lot of names there that are not even close to Paul Williams. Honestly. Alexander? Khan? Nooo.... And many others there.

    You didn't have any reasons, or any argument, simply that you think other fighters should be ranked higher. **** thread. And I don't even like Paul Williams. Cotto? Devon Alexander? Tim Bradley? are you high?

    how can you rank alexander,Juanma even bradley ahead of paul.none of them have anything matching wins over margo,winky,martinez.alot of your list is full of guys that are skilled but haven't proved it yet.also Mosely is coming off a schooling.

    I do, I could run through and anlyse each fighters resume and skill advantage over Williams but that would take for too long and I expect people to have enough intelligence to analyse that for themselves in their head.

    I not ranking the Martinez fight as I dont think he won. The majority dont think he won. I'm simply ranking his performance against Martinez. p4p is not cut and dry, its an opinion and not solely based on either skills or resume, but mainly. I just dont see how anyone can have him in their top 10.

    Mosely is coming off a schooling to the best fighter in the world bar none.

    So wins over Urango, Witter and Corley trumps wins over Margarito (with plaster), Quintana, and Wright (at Wrights weight class I might mention). That's a rediculous argument.

    The reason i have Williams in my current top 10 P4P is not resume , its based on his skill set and his size :deal

    His resume isnt great , and in his big wins he hasnt exactly set the world alight , but he is huge , he's a south paw , he has great conditioning , very active , he's a strong come forward pressure fighter , basically in a nut shell there is nobody in world boxing apart from Caballero (who IMO is not as effective as Williams) you can compare the guy too .

    All the above considered for me he's a main stay in the P4P rankings , he needs to really get his **** together and start getting better fights , because just about everbody is getting sick of the Paul Williams " nobody will fight me " BS :deal

    You think but I'm not particularly imprssed with a caught cold knockout over Quintana, a win against an ancient Winky Wright. The Margarito fight is the only one that holds much weight and he was rusty. Combine that with what I and the majority of others thought wa sa loss and set-up win against Martinez (see one scorecard), an awful performance against Cintron. Couple that with the fact he is a deteriorating fighter, has no idea how to use mammoth physical advantages (which is a shocking factor) and talks how he is the most feared but wont sign to fight people even when he is getting more than he realistically deserves.

    Oh, so you decided to start a thread without any relevant points of discussion AND you think your arguments are so complex they'll go over everyone's head? Please.... Williams is definitely overrated and I personally think he lost to Maravilla but his resume is infinitely better than people like Alexander, Cotto(who he would **** up H2H), Darchinyan, etc... I am not saying he is an incredibly skilled fighter or even that his resume is spotless, but give credit where it is due, he represents a challenge for any fighter from WW to MW and that's a fact.

    funny how you mention winky as being ancient but you don't lambaste urango, witter and corley with the same? bit of a joke, no?

    I've seen you as a Williams fan boy and judging by Corleys recent performance, the fact it was a KNOCKOUT over Urango and that Witter is a very awkward fighter, then yes I do rank Alexander above Paul Williams in resume and most certainly skills as Williams cant even seen to use his mammoth physical advantages which is two words is highly embarrassing.

    Oh man , tell me you didnt just mention Winky as a notable win for Williams :patsch

    The Winky that fought Williams isnt a shell of the monster of 04/05 @154 :deal this fight shouldnt even get a mention Winky should be retired already .............

    So he gets there for being taller and able to shed weight really well?

    He cant use his advantages, he is active but not at all very accurate and looks worse every fight. I dont really find him remotely exciting now because I know exactly waht to expect from him and its not that impressive.

    Not at all, he has acheived more beat more top opponents then anyone else apart from a select handful.

    Why shouldnt he be in the top 10 p4p.?

    I am explaining my reasons now as people post comments that do not agree with mine.

    Wright hadn't fought for almost 2 years when he fought Williams and hasn't fought since.

    Witter, Urango and Corley did not have this factor against them at all.
