It's still not confirmed but there are news in spanish media about a possible fight between Campillo and Beterbiev in Quebec, April 4th, in the Adonis vs TBA undercard.

Campillo and Beterbiev are ranked #5 and #8 by the WBC and the winner might be on the line to face Stevenson next. Campillo has signed with Haymon this week, so it looks like he is being carried to the slaughter to set up a tittle fight between Adonis and Beterbiev.

Will Beterbiev be able to 'kovalev' Campillo? I don't think Campillo is able to upset the russian beast.

And who is going to fight Stevenson on April 4th?

    :huh

Maybe a man with a lot of lions need some lambs to feed them.

Campillo is in his last boxing days. He was almost out of the game after his two ko loses against Kovalev and Fonfara. Then was carried to feed Thomas Williams jr, but the young lion had no teeth. He regained his momemtum, but he needs to cash out before retiring.

If Haymon offers him the chance to get a couple or three fights in US TV with decent paydays and the chance to fight for the tittle IF he wins against Beterbiev.... is not a bad choice.

IMO Campillo is going to lose against Beterbiev. But Campillo is a proud man and has never refused a fight. Has fought Shumenov, Murat, Cloud, Kovalev, Fonfara and has been able to upset some of the big names of the division ( being robbed some times). Why not to try against Beterbiev for a good payday? He has nothing to lose. :deal

Campillo is much better in reality as he is on paper of course, and he should have been the IBF/WBA champion (robbed against Cloud and Schumi) at the time he fought Kovalev and not Hopkins.
But he's over the hill and Beterbiev is a monster, so I don't give him much of a chance.

I think it will be a Kovalev vs Campillo deja vu. :-(
