Rumour is Griffin will fight Mundine for the interim WBA 160 title as Sturm will be elevated to super champ as he has more than 5 title defences.

Griffin has been out for almost 18 months....while Mundine has been fighting on the domestic level.

Griffin has a few good wins but his best fights came in his draws to WBA champ Sturm, Yusaf Mack and James Obede Toney

Mundines best win was against Danny Green who recently stopped RJJ in round 1.

Should be an interesting fight if it gets made.....thoughts?

**** Mundine. How he made it into Fight Night still pisses me off. Almost as bad as Billy Dib. But not quite!

I dont think Mundine will fight Sturm....he's been number 1 for 2 years now.

Mundine has offered Sturm to come to AUST and fight however Sturm only wants the fight in Germany.....I think Mundine still has nightmares about Germany....he wont go back :yep

Mundine will fight Geale again if Geale picks up another title.

This fight if made will help build Mundines profile in the states if he wins and that may help HBO agree to a Pavlik V Mundine fight down the track.

With Martinez V Pavlik still not signed....if Mundine had a profile in the states I'm sure he would be fighting Pavlik in April

While Mundine's name in the states in almost unknown....he brings to the table at least $3,000,000 net revenue from aussie PPV.....and if the fight was in AUST then 35,000 people through the gate as well.

Would you say Griffin was low risk?

I was thinking this is a hard fight for Mundine

Griffin hasn't fought in nearly two years, how's he get a title fight? Golovkin is supposed to be the #1 contender...

I wonder if it's the same nightmare he had when he was in a deep sleep for 10 minutes in the middle of the ring. :hey

I also thought Golovkin was named Sturm's mandatory.

But Mundine is officially the number 1 contender according to the WBA ratings.

Always been a fan of Mundine's style, and have always wanted him to secure a meaningful fight so that he could showcase his skills to more people (99% of people that have seen him fight are Australian's only). Unfortunately, that never happened in his career, and now Mundine is probably past his best.

I'm not sold on Golvkin like others are, however, and think that he is still somewhat inexperienced as a pro. Mundine-Golovkin could be a good fight (although would NEVER happen) for the interim belt.

but you do know that Mundine has had the ability to secure a meaningful fight, right? He just chooses to go down this meaningless path. It's not as if he's being ducked. He's a complete joke. I hate him. Have a nice day.

Great, Mundine fighting for another bogus title.

I wonder if he realizes he's never actually been a legit world champion?
