I think Usyk might be a little bit too puny to take on these behemoths. Did you see the swelling on his face when the few punches of Witherspoon landed. It will only be a matter of time before he's beaten down by these slow obese walruses. I can't wait. lol
I think Usyk vs Fury is a very favorable fight for Usyk (in particular this version Fury post 1st retirement). Fury has never fought anyone who is more technically gifted than himself as Usyk is plus Usyk doesnt have to watch out about HW power as Fury is featherfisted. Usyk deals with taller guys fine eg Joyce and Wlad sparring etc.
I'd actually say Joshua has the best shot at the moment. He has the power, the size and the boxing ability to potentially beat Usyk, but he can't play it safe like he did against Ruiz or he'll be figured out and outboxed. He'll need to periodically take it to Usyk and hurt him in order to keep him hesitant, while conserving his energy for the later rounds, when Usyk is likely to have an advantage in workrate. In other words he'd need to alternate between using his reach to keep things at a distance, then using his size and power to stop Usyk gaining too much confidence. Fury has the skills, but we saw against Wallin and Cunningham that if he starts to struggle he begins to fall apart and resort to roughhousing as a way to even things up. A lot of Fury's success comes pre-fight from getting into his opponents heads and figuring them out before they step into the ring, but he wouldn't be able to do that with Usyk who's as mad and unpredictable as himself. His success would have to come early on, using his reach to outbox Usyk and frustrate him, then moving into a more physical mauling type of fight later on if Usyk starts to figure him out. As for Wilder, he wouldn't stand a chance against Usyk. He'd be humiliated.
I was really underwhelmed by Fury's performance against Wallin, and realised that he's actually not as good as I thought he was; he's just very good against a certain type of predictable style. Usyk is a master adapter who alters his gameplan on the fly, and I think that type of style will play havoc with Fury and make him actually end up looking like the crude, wild-swinging oaf that his early detractors said of him. Can see Fury really unravelling if he can't establish a rhythm early. In fact I can see him unravelling at some point in the fight regardless; the important point will be how close to the finish line he is when it happens, and how many points he's racked up beforehand.
That was meant to say US and Brit but I'm going to blame predictive and yeah, the US are the only ones who rival the UK fighters for talking **** and getting cracked - hence meaning to say both.
Answer to OPs question is no, he doesn't fear anything. I have a question of my own: has any fighter in history ever triggered haters so much as Oleksandr "The Great" Usyk?
The answer to this question -- and triggered more people even more ferociously -- is most likely Jack Johnson. Some black people were even lynched in the aftermath of him beating Jim Jeffries.
