I have 3 meals a day and a lot of snacks in between.

I just have a very high metabolism rate I think.

Then eat more. You're exactly like me. I have to eat about 3-4000 calories a day to gain any weight.

That will change.. Naturally as your growing and your metabolism is much faster at an early age more calories are required bearing in mind most teens are very active. As you get older your body matures along with your musculature and your metabolism slows down causing you to gain weight. Gaining weight or lossing it depends entirely on your diet and lifestyle.

Scurlaruntings knows his ****, but like most have already said, you will start filling out as you get into your early 20's. I myself was a hard gainer at your age and into my late teens, it's tough to gain weight when your competing in such a draining sport like Boxing. I can give you a couple tips you may want to try, before you go to bed drink a protein shake, one that contains 40-50 grams of protein. While on the subject of protein, try eating 1.25 grams of protein for every pound you weigh and keep a diary of sorts of your gains and how your feeling.

I will warn you, when you gain weight at a fast pace like that, alot of it isnt going to be muscle, and you may experience stretch marks, something alot of body builders tend to have because of there diet and fast gains, I myself had some, and it took a year for them to fade away. So unless your frail as can be, I really wouldnt stress out about it, but if you want some extra workout tips they may help you put on some size, just PM me.

Yeah I figured. I eat extremely healthy, but a lot-really. I measure it out to at least 3k everyday. I do so much hard running everyday that Its just hard to gain weight.

Im naturally skinny but hover round 160. I fight at 155 or less. Im 22. You'll start filling out later in life if your not careful. Personally I think its best to fight in the lightest weight class possible. Dont try to gain weight, only pure strength, explosive strength and stamina (speed comes). Weight is useless to a boxer, it slows u down, can decrease conditioning and when u move up weight classes u get hit harder. So why the **** do you want to gain weight? to look good? forget it. Training properly will make u look awesome AND youll kick ass.

So as I get older, my metabolism will slow down? What if I continue to do a lot of cardio? Will my metabolism stay high forcing me to not gain weight?
