Yeah, of course there is this hierarchy. I'd say everyone showed a bit of everything, but with different emphasis. Duran and Mayweather showed most of B and D, Walcott and, especially, Ali showed most of A and C.

I wish I could make such a highlight video, because I'd like to put together more clips of Ali slipping and countering, since I know this isn't something you credit him for much.

My old computer broke which is why I haven't been able to create any videos recently. It was my intention to make three parts and will work on it whenever I get the time.

Your choice of the song "Nara" was genius.

Ali would at times slip and counter and I would credit him for that -My point was that his style was simpler than most think it was -that's not to say it wasn't highly effective, but it is to say that he did not have an expansive range of skills, but a simplistic range of skills.

The ranking, in order of most difficult to least is this:

    D, B, A, C.

    d
    b
    a
    c

would be my ranking of it. im good at bobbing weaving, slipping and shoulder rolling but not so hot at hitting back. frustrates my coach. make them miss but dio t make them pay.....

Well, let's say I see where you're coming from, but doesn't agree 100%. Don't think there was much simplistic about Ali's skills. That's for another discussion, though.

Must say that the highlights really shows why Duran is such a revered fighter, and rightly so. So smooth and natural and yet such a technical marvel. Perhaps the only one of his kind. Fantastic fighter.

Nice overall to see such excellent highlights of such excellent fighters. A question; where's Harold Johnson's place amongst the defensive masters, you'd say?

Yeah, that is the hard one. I make some nice slips now and then in sparring, but am never satisfied unless I counter effectively. Which means I'm rarely satisfied. But, hell, that gives me a reason to go back to the gym.

It's funny about Duran. To the world at large, he's a joke. There's a large contingent at ESB who engage in revisionism and apply double standards to diminish his accomplishments... but to the boxing purist, the man is one of the best ever.

Harold Johnson was more than a defensive master, he was in my opinion, an even better technician than Duran. When I did my personal top 25, Johnson was in the running. He didn't make the cut but he was in the running.
