Get The Crook Boxing promoters like Bob Arum out of the picture, and boxing will make a come back. For me I would rather watch boxing now, because its more technical.

You'll hardly see anyone with their chin up and leaving themselfs wide open. As long as your an athlete you can do well in MMA.

Showtime showed 1 boxing fight then immediately showed 4 MMA fights.

    Undeveloped, unrefined "sport" vs Boxing

My opinion has always been that when MMA evolves from what it is now to having young fighters grow into the sport the way amateur boxing does, then and only then will you see an ELITE level of mixed martial arts.

Pure ignorance is you're middle name

Jon Jones is a new breed of Mixed Martial Artist, check him out!

Mixed Martial Arts was undeveloped, unrefined until about 96' or so when competitors began "cross training".

No real difference between cross training of the mid 90's and training in MMA today other than a greater understanding of what developed into a sport.

Just watching Test cricket on the #2 sports channel, and a big 10 minute ad came on hyping the Lesnar v Overeem PPV, with a mini-tutorial about who they both were. About $US17 here.

Lunchtime in the Test cricket match, and Sky Sports spent the 40 minute break in play by showing Diaz-Penn and Condit-Kim in full, plus a brief studio segment introducing noobs to both fighters and hyping their upcoming match.

NBC now has a boxing series on. Kind of the opposite of what the thread is asking for, but it's there.

Channel One, an Australian sports channel is broadcasting the FX and Fox fight cards on free to air tv. They occasionally did the fight night cards and re-runs of TUF, but apparently all of the Fox related cards are going to be broadcast for free.

In the lounge at the moment, there's a "Best fighter entrance song?" thread.

It's currently running at 8 MMA choices, against 5 boxing choices.

    On a boxing site.
