Walcott outboxes Mike and drops him 2 times along the way

    Walcott by knockout.

A Walcott at his best is too good to lose to a part time fighter like Tyson at that stage.

    I'd say Walcott late.

I'd love to hear Foreman Hook's musings on this one.

Not so many would be picking Walcott at the time the fight was made, that's for sure...

Anyway, I think I'd pick Mike anyway. He landed bombs on Holyfield and whilst I accept landing on Walcott is much, much...much harder, Mike still has the speed and mule-kick to get that job done. Walcott doesn't have Evander's chin. I'll go for a firmly embarrassed Tyson to scramble a TKO between 5 and 8.

Joey Walcott by wide-ass decision. :bbb

Walcott is too slick like oil, too fast like a veyron, too clever like einstein, too tough like a tank, too much HEART like a vietcong for a one-demensional spineless-bully like Tinfoil to overcome.

Frontrunner Tinkerbell Tyson wins a couple of early rounds before gassing like kimbo And getting clowned, if he is lucky!

I do agree 100% with Bummy Davis, Walcott does put Tyson on teh canvas twice in teh fight, like he did to Joey Louis. Walcott would not get ROBBED like he did VS american-hero Louis in 1947. Yes Walcott is a v.small 194lbs with a low 45% KO percentage, But he did drop Louis 2 times, And Louis has at least equal Chin toughness to Tyson And even a 1947 Oldman Louis is better/greater then 1988 Tyson, let alone a little bit past-best, post-chokey 1996 Tyson.

Post prison Tyson had a more muscled physique which suggested he was weight trained and as a result lacked stamina. His prime speed and technique was gone.

He could still bang tho so would hav a punchers chance.

JJW I feel would be able to outslick Mike and even deck him a couple of times in the process. Walcott was one of the cleverest guys in boxing history..I marvel at him.

this one is tougher than i thought. it's interesting reading some of the comments, which surprised me to be honest. my gut was leaning towards walcott but mike really was still a machine post prison.

prime for prime, i pick mike and with confidence. the question is, after prison did he lose the attributes that would have given him the edge over walcott? he still had all that power, still had most of his speed but now lacked head movement, combination punching and defensive prowess.

i see walcott setting traps and frankly embarassing mike for the first 5. then, as in the botha fight, he lands a bomb out of frustration. walcott is up but it's a different fight. jersey joe continues to outbox mike but he's on the backfoot and by the 8th mike has landed another bomb that puts him away. (sorry mcgrain, looks like i ripped off your prediction)

just based off of styles, i'm not all that confident in jjw but there are numerous arguments that can be made to the contrary

My problem with picking Tyson here is that it's basically reliant on him landing one punch.

As a gambler, I've found that that method of predicting doesn't usually pay off :D (although with Tyson, all bets would be off). Walcott is no Botha or Mathis Jr and Tysons stamina post prison was good for about 5 rounds max.
