Post-prison Tyson (218 lbs trim) vs - Riddick Bowe (95) - George Foreman (94) - Michael Moorer (94) - Larry Holmes (92) - David Tua (97) - Shannon Briggs (97) - Henry Akinwande (97) - Herbie Hide (95) - Vitali Klitschko (99) - Wladimir Klitschko (02)
Hmm......bearing in mind that Tyson was no longer the superlative fighter he was pre-prison he would have mixed results against that line-up of heavyweights. He would lose to Big George ( despite Big George's comparatively old age ).Tua's sheer raw power would be too much for post-prison Tyson,as would the sheer size and granite jaw of Vitali. 1995 Riddick Bowe ? Well, this was the last year we saw Bowe at his best.He looked truly formidable against Gonzalez. So again another loss for post-prison Iron Mike. The rest he should still have enough to beat, even the great Larry Holmes.
He beats Foreman, Holmes, Moorer, Briggs and Hide with ease. He either stops Akinwande mid-fight or wins by UD. He stops Wladimir. Bowe and Tua would be the toughest matchups. Can go either way. Against Vitali, I'm not sure too.
Vitali, Wlad and Bowe would be his toughest match ups. He definitely loses to Vitali, and probably loses to Wlad and Bowe.
Akinwande, Moorer, Briggs, Hide, Foreman and Holmes get taken out like the trash. The others could go either way.
I’d favor post prison Tyson over everybody except Bowe, who I think would be a bad style matchup for Tyson even in his prime.
I'd favor him over Foreman, Holmes, Briggs, Akinwande, Moorer, and Hide. Vitali would be a favorite over him, and the others could go either way.
If you talk about Tyson's prison past, the most reliable and best is his fight with Evander Holyfield. According to Tyson, he was not in good shape and disregarded Evander, but this is the only fight where he really had to fight. The best test. Riddick Bowe (95) He wouldn't disregard Riddick, but in 1995 Bowe looked undefeated. He took a risk fighting close up, so Mike would have a chance. If he knocked out Bowe, he would have the biggest victory in his career, but I think Riddick will break him. KO in the 9/10th round because of an epic fight in which both are on the floor. A great historical success for Bowe, which today would be considered top 3-5. - George Foreman (94) - George is slow. I think it's only 3/4 rounds for Tyson. Mike is receiving opinions of an old man killer. He won't get any recognition for this victory, even if it was valuable. Tyson haters would have lashed out at him for this fight. - Michael Moorer (94) Moorer was brave and great but he took too many risks, he fought close and his jaw isn't very strong.. Great fight and KO for Tyson in round 4. - Larry Holmes (92) Tyson would have had a problem if he didn't win quickly. This time the cautious Holmes wouldn't have let himself get hit. He would have had a hard time but took the initiative towards the end. Close verdict for Tyson. MD/SD and a bit of controversy. - Dawid Tua (97) - David is prime. He's never been better. Until round 8 it would have been equal with Mike in the lead, then David breaks Tyson. - Shannon Briggs (97) Spectacular rival, spectacular fight but Tyson stops him until the 5th round - Henryk Akinwande (97) rematch with James Smith. UD for Tyson after a weak fight. - Herbie Hide (95) KO in the 3rd round for Mike. But Herbie could have had a sensational exit, could have upset Tyson but the difference is the jaw. Herbie is a shared, less accessible version of Tyson. - Vitali Klitschko (99) Vitalilink sensational victory tko in the 10th round. - Wladimir Klitschko (02) A very difficult guy. Speaking I have no idea. Wladimir from 2006 wins but the one from 2002? resistance to the fight with Sanders.. think that Tyson
- Riddick Bowe (95) MIke wins UD 12. Bowe nearly gets stopped early and loses the first couple of rounds badly. After that he rallies and nearly stops Mike himself, slows the latter way down. Bowe can't keep it up in the later rounds and Mike wins an ultimately cautious but decisive last four rounds. - George Foreman (94) Mike wins UD after being out on his feet on several occasions during. George gets hit way too much and has to hold after being staggered repeatedly. George is super swole but upright in the end. - Michael Moorer (94) Mike 1st round - Larry Holmes (92) Mike in a more than commanding UD. Larry's upped the jab-jab-try-right hand-grab technique he relied on during the 90s, not to mention the rope-a-dope. Mike doesn't feed into the rope doping so it's a mostly slow fight. Mike ends up fighting down to what Larry's doing, he has a terrible tme landing flush at all with all the smothering. Larry's jab helps him to do more than survive, he lands it on the button enough to slow Mike down past the 7th. But overall Mike is just way busier, more aggressive, and Larry gets noticably scarily rocked a few times ala Mercer. No kds. - David Tua (97) Tua makes it to the final bell and the cards end up close. Though Mike is obviously the better overall fighter, Tua connects on many memorable occasions. Mike wins only by two or three points, relying on his superior ring IQ and perhaps most importantly KEEPING HIS LEFT HAND UP lol - Herbie Hide (95) Mike ko in 2, 3 at the latest. - Vitali Klitschko (99) Vitali stops him, though I can't think of a round. - Wladimir Klitschko (02) Same as Vitali
Tyson post prison was an average fighter with some power. He might beat Hide and Briggs, but the rest would have taken him out.
