But both Cruisers you named are very capable of dropping Wlad, and vice versa. Ali fought more heavy handed fighters like Shavers, Liston, Foreman, Frazier, and Norton who all probably hit harder than Peter. Corrie Sanders might be the only Heavywieght he fought that could be considered as powerful as the fighters I named.

"Shavers, Liston, Foreman, Frazier, and Norton who all probably hit harder than Peter" They might hit as hard as Sanders, but they dont have same speed that Sanders has..and Sanders is also left-handed..Foreman and Norton has size that they might get in..another ones no way

Peter was physically more powerfull than anyone you mentioned...he just push wlad away, when he try to holding..and that was one problem in that fight.

    Liston would kill Wlad.

Peter I know for a fact doesnt hit close to as hard as Foreman, Shavers, and Liston, and probably doesnt hit as hard as Norton or Frazier.

When you say physically stronger what do you mean exactly, because I could tell you right now that Foreman is easily stronger than Peter in everything.

There are no great heavys today. Wlad is probably the best today but bottom 10 if that in past eras. you guys are absolutely insane thinking any fighter today could even take one round from Ali. Let's go back 15 or so years.
Tyson against Wlad. Wlads only defense is sticking that long left arm out keeping fighters away so they have to fight on the outside. At the start of round one Tyson would charge like a bull, knock that ****ing arm out of the way (if not break it) and pound Wlad into submission. KO 2 min. round one.
Ali would do the opposite. Speed would beat Wlad. Ali darts in and out landing at will over the plodding lumbering Wlad. wlad is to slow for a guy with the speed of Ali. Wlads face a mess in the middle of round 2. TKO Ali. Anyone who thinks Wlad could land consistantly on Ali is absolutely ignorant of the sport.

Peter is 243 lbs and Foreman was in his prime 220lbs. I'm not so sure which one own's more pure strenght. Foreman is more skilled but peters hands are probably little faster.

Yeah, someone tell's me in that forum-" Foreman training weight lifting with bull of his shoulder":rofl Bull weight's 1100 lbs...

Peter couldn't KO or even drop McCline, who was down against Chris Byrd. I'm sorry but Foreman is a much bigger puncher, and a proven puncher at the elite level.

Ali is the greatest heavyweight ever, without a doubt. Far greater accomplishment-wise, than Wlad. However, this is a horrible style matchup for Ali. He was vulnerable to a good jab. He held his hands too low and had no idea how to defend the jab. Ken Norton, who wasn't half the puncher that Wlad is, pushed Ali to the brink 3 times, beating him once, and arguably deserving the 3rd fight as well. How did he do this? He was a physically strong fighter who worked behind a very good jab, and pressured Ali. Now, take Wlad. He's stronger than Norton was. He has faster hands, a longer, sharper jab, and a great deal more power. If he sticks his jab in Ali's face, and forces him backwards, the post layoff Ali would take a beating. Ali had some power, but he wouldn't have enough to KO Wlad, especially not early on. He'd be too busy eating lefts to offer much offense. Eventually, Wlad would start to land rights behind the jab, and left hooks (another Ali weakness), and the ref would stop the fight around the 10th round, saving a helpless, but still standing, Ali.

The purists and Klitschko haters may not like to hear it, (and as an Ali fan, it makes me wince, too) but, Wlad's attributes and Ali's weaknesses would make for a painful night for the Greatest.

Watch the Ali-Norton fights to see what I mean.

Most of alis opponent's in 60th or 70th survive more rounds?
Prime Tyson win only UD James Smith 6'5 and Tony Tucker 6'5 and they were tall guys. I dont think they win wlad..

Foreman is a bigger guy than Peter naturally and also stronger in every way as well, Bigger doesnt mean better anyways. Alot of your most powerful punchers were smaller men compared to today, guys like Dempsey, Marciano, Tyson, Shavers, and Liston, are all listed in most peoples top 10 biggest punchers. All of the fighters I named our 6 foot or shorter and none of which were over 220 or lighter in there prime.

but you can't compare Wlad to Norton. Norton would have no trouble with the plodding slow Wlad. Wlad loks good against this terrible era of heavys but there is no way he can or could beat anyone of Alis stature. Or nortons either. Who is the best fighter Wlad has beaten? Is there a best?

Good post, although where we differ is I think that Ali's cagey instincts would enable him to survive Wladimir's early assault, then gradually start to close the distance and land the cleaner and more accurate shots in the 2nd half.

I have questions whether Wladimir could play the chess game with Ali for 12 rounds (maybe) and especially for 15 (doubtful).

Bryd is his greatest win, and he wouldnt survive in the 70s.
