Whyte has go to be one of the most overrated heavyweights going round. He landed one good punch on AJ but proceeded to get his butt whooped for 6 rounds. Went life & death with old battle worn Chisora who IMO beat him.
Somebody please explain why Ortiz gets such praise. He has one good W in Jennings almost two years ago. He might be great but some proof would be nice.
Top 10 Heavyweights right now. 1. Anthony Joshua 2. Luis Ortiz 3. Deontay Wilder 4. Alexander Povetkin 5. Joseph Parker 6. David Haye 7. Kubrat Pulev 8. Dillian Whyte 9. Dominic Breazeale 10. Jarrell Miller
Yes, i wait until his next fight before i may drop him down a few places, i believe he is still better than most heavyweights assuming he is not injured.
AJ is #1 and Povetkin is #2 pretty clearly in my mind. Probably Parker or Ortiz at 3/4 then probably Wilder on sheer numbers.
That is simply not an assumption you can afford to make though. He's also done nothing to impact the division since stopping Chisora and as impressive as that was; it was five years ago now. Based on natural talent alone, he is probably a top 10 HW, but wins over De Mori and Gjergjaj don't tell us if he still has the athleticism to reliably showcase that talent. Injury aside his timing looked straight up gash in the first five rounds against Bellew.
You could be right, we will see in his next fight, if he looks like he did against Bellew in the first 5 rounds i will remove him from my top 10 list, i make my list firstly on h2h ability and second on resume and i would favour Haye against Whyte, Breazeale and Miller.
