Hi i know that bodybuilders and anyone trying to build muscle say that consuming simple carbs and protien after a workout is best to replinish energy etc.
I was wondering what would be optimal to consume after a boxing workout. My boxing sessions are mostly in the evening and i dont think consuming a shitloads of sugar would be appropriate.
    Any advice?

I used to have a Banana, Satsuma, Whey Shake and a few Almonds.

Used to do the trick. :D

Why do you think it needs to be any different? Obviously quantity would be different but...

The reason i think it could be different s because the goals of the training is different and wasnt sure if what is best for putting on muscle would also be best to use after a boxing workout

You only put on muscle if you are on a calorie surplus while training. As long as you control your calorie intake it doesn't matter what you do you won't gain weight.

The goal for both is to replenish energy and consume protein to prevent catabolism. The difference between replenishment and gaining weight is the quanitity, like I said in my previous post.

16 oz Chocolate Milk. Plenty of research on it. I can't believe nobody mentioned this. Perfect ratio of fats/carbs/protein

 You're obsessed with the chocolate milk thing :D

How about a chicken breast sandwich and lots of water. Why drink your calories?

You digest and absorb the nutrients quicker, as well as being very convenient. But other than that, it's all up to personal preference.

I used to do milk, banana, & nuts.

I always have 2 x garlic chicken kievs, 6 slices of ham with potato salad and coleslaw washed down with a protein shake (about 25g pro) .... no idea if it's any good but it's tasty!

I agree, especially on the convenience part. I don't really have the energy to fix a meal after I workout.

Exactly, absorption is the key for post workout nutrition. The milk should be drunk 15 minutes after workout. Also, you want to look at the type of carbs you replace after a workout. Bread on a chicken breast is not the optimal carb replenishing you want to use after a workout.
