Unless I've missed something all RDJ has said is fruit smoothies are good for you. He's said nothing about how much and what fruits, but you've jumped straight on him about it being too much sugar. Obviously if you're having 3 huge fruit smoothies a day that's too much, but a decent sized one once a day woudn't be too much sugar at all.
Since you are disagreeing with me, it would require a situation where you: a) eat too many fruits (micronutrient overdose?) b) still don't obtain enough calories I can't think of a single scenario where that would ring true to be honest. If your calorie requirements allow the fruits, the micronutrients they provide will be good for any athlete. If your calorie requirements don't allow fruits they don't allow anything else either, especially foods lower in micronutrients (which is basically everything bar veggies).
Not really, we all need sugars and micronutrients. He's not a fat mcdonalds employee at risk of becoming a diabetic, at least there is no reason to assume an illness up front. It's like telling him not to eat proteins because he may have AIDS.
Yeah I think that's where our miscommunication is coming from. I was responding to a post where the person was drinking two fruit smoothies a day, though admittedly one was labeled as small.
Multi Vit Breakfast > 60g of oats, 2 handfull of blueberries, dash of honey and an omega-3 capsule Large mug of green tea Gym (30 minutes of cardio) Straight after the gym > Banana & a handful of blueberries Lunch > One med-large piece of steak, Broccoli, Carrots and omega-3 capsule Snack > 2 handfulls of blueberries and 2 handfulls of almonds Short run Dinner > Small bowl of tomato soup with 3 slices of wholemeal bread & omega-3 capsule 4 litres of water On a fat loss tip. RDJ, does this look ok mate for fat loss?
I'd include some protein in each meal but the things you eat are all fine. Micronutrient wise your diet is safe.
My dieat today is pretty typical: Brekkie: Bowl of crunchy nut with full fat + cup of peppermint tea 10.30: Banana 12.00: Couple of beef sandwiches made from yesterday's roast, banana and a biscuit of some sort 15.00: Another banana (I usually have something sweet too, but shopping day is tommorow) 17.30: Coooked dinner (peas, carrots, brussels, mash, chicken breast and 5 (yes 5) yorkie puds. No desert 19.00 - 23.00 couple of jaffa cakes You'll notice I eat a lot of banana. I like most fruit, but Banana's are good cause they're tasty and easy to get down, and I haven't got time for ****ing about peeling oranges at work and apples make me sick. I occasionally take Kiwis,, but the juice gets everywhere. My lunch and evening meal are pretty typical (although I don't eat 5 yorkie puds a day) It's usually rice or pasta plus something with veg and meat in. Lunch is usually soup with a slice of bread, or the previous evenings left overs. My real weakness is the biccies. If I didn't exercise I'd be the size of a house.
