ok this is gonna sound ******ed...but why are people dissing tuna? last time i checked it out ranks chicken as a p4p protein source.
What?! I didn't hear anybody dissing tuna, but I might have missed something. I agree with you though, tuna is probably the best p4p protein source. It's a very regular part of my diet. As for the mercury levels, that's a myth that the media perpetuates. You can google "tuna mercury myth" and find out all about it. The only problem that I would really see with tuna is that it's basically just protein and that's it (which is probably why its the best p4p protein source out there). There's not a lot of calories, fat, carbs or anything. It should be combined with other things to make your diet healthy. As a part of my diet I usually just make sandwhiches with it. 2 cans, 2 small spoonfuls of mayonnaise,4 slices whole grain bread,1/2 cup of grated pepper jack cheese. Mix the tuna and mayo, spread it across two slices sprinkle the cheese, and then top it off with the last two slices on top. This will give you much more energy as the calories will amount to approx. 700. Just make sure to get a thick hearty bread though.
Good to hear, I likes me tuna. I to like to mix a bit of mayonnaise with tuna, nice snack even if that's all you eat.
usually go for the sunflower oiled one. its (relatively ) cheep meat and ****in excellent for protein. its a bit of a wonderfood for me. beans have a tonne of protein too (altho the sodium is a worry) and are the cheapest thing you can ****in buy. you just have to chew them up properly before you swallow as its aparantly better for you that way.
For all you meat afficionados out there, I have two words for you... Foreman.. Grill... Seriously, I cook everything on my foreman. Cooking for one means I need to cook stuff quickly with little hassle. Red meat, chicken, bacon, sausage, zuchini, eggplant, etc. all cook very easily, taste great, and you can make a full meal while doing other stuff. It also keeps the cleanup to a minimum. For red meat and chicken I recommend a good dry rub, it makes it 10 times better.
Yeh we used to have a George Foreman grill, the orginal one's. I think i'm gonna have to buy, a massive new one.
today my diet was **** cuz i had to eat out all day. I like to start with an egg white sandwich on a wheat bun, maybe with some roast beef. Or a soy milk protein shake with non-fat unflavored yogurt and/or peanut butter. Usually for lunch I'll have subway or a lean cuisine meal at work. Then a good dinner, like baked chicken or pork with veggies. And apples/oranges/bannans for a snack. Along with gingko biolba, a multi-vitamin and a multi-mineral. And ideally at least 80 oz of water.

Ha I've sort of guessed that reply was coming from an earlier post, any tips on what when tho?I'm new to eating right and I am learning as I go. I've read ye nutrition thread but it's fitting it in,6 meals seems hard to fit in during the day.
