i always ate poached eggs on toast before i fought, apart from once when my trainer told me to "eat something proper"
the poached eggs on toast bit was just superstition i think

Personally, I think my diet is generally quite good, today has been really good as I feel guilty for the Chinese takeaway I had yesterday.

    9am
    Cereals (2 Weetabix with cornflakes)
    Banana

    11am
    Fruit Smoothie (Banana and Apple)

    1pm
i know i ate something here, mind has gone completely blank.

    3pm
    1/2 Tuna sandwich
    Some ryvita snacks

    7pm
Homemade chicken masala curry, with salad.

    9pm
    [another] small fruit smoothie
    small bowl of cereal

Honestly, I think it all comes down to how people can process carbs. I wouldn't get too hung up on calories as long as they come from good sources..

Overall it's pretty decent, only thing I would change is to eat more protein in the morning. It seems like most of your protein intake comes in afternoon and evening. I like having a lot of protein for breakfast, if it was me I'd replace the wheatabix with something else.

My personal favorite breakfast when I have enough time is simply bacon and eggs.

The only protein you get here is from the chicken and the tuna, and a tiny bit from the milk in cereal. I'm not saying everyone needs to eat a ton of protein, but there should be a good source of protein with every meal. Also, while smoothies are tasty, they're pure sugar, they're pretty much a dessert. If your body can handle it though, then more power to you :)

Smoothies are blended fruits, it doesn't get much more healthy than that. That's not a dessert, it's an essential part of a healthy diet. The value it brings is in the micronutrients (vitamins, minerals and the likes). I am not sure what kind of body would not be able to handle sugars and micronutrients as both are needed by the human body to function, especially a heavily taxed human body like that of a boxer.

Thanks for the reply, do you think if i had a protein shake after my wheetbix that would be enough protein or do you think i should replace the whole breakfast meal with something else. Any suggestions on what is a good high protein meal for breakfast. Preferably something quick to make because i dont have much time in the morning before i leave for work. Cheers.

It's still a ton of sugar though. I can't eat an entire fruit bowl full of fruit in one sitting, but I can definitely drink a smoothie. A lot of people can't deal with that level of sugars. It all depends on your body type. I know for a fact that if I drank multiple smoothies a day I'd gain a bunch of weight.

I personally prefer food over shakes. Maybe just start off switching it up, every few days have some bacon and eggs or whatever and see how you feel. Variety is always good.

It depends on your activity level. I can't think of any other reason a person would not be able to deal with sugars accompanied by enormous loads of micronutrients, because the combination is healthy as ****.

In that case you'd take in too many calories. The last thing I'd sacrifice to lower the amount of calories I eat is fruits though.

I would if I was eating way more fruit than I needed.
