Must admit, I thought GGG is in trouble 6 rounds in, way too inactive, but Canelo seemed to fall off the cliff pretty much as soon as Golovkin did what we expected him to do - press the action.

Canelo took the early rounds, GGG took the late. It was a very close fight which could have gone either way

the commentary, the fact Canelo took the early rounds and everyone knowing you dont win a close fight against canelo has given everyone a false impression of what went on in there

 

Honestly I scored it 8-0 for Canelo then stopped scoring the fight after. I did the same for fight two, Canelo easily won the first 7 rounds there but he always gasses late. GGG just has more stamina, he's a bad style match up for Canelo but he won the trilogy. I gave GGG the first fight 8-4 btw.

Commentary was dreadful but they got some of the things right, like Golovkin clinching for example. I’ve never seen him do that before.

One would’ve hoped that despite the age and everything he’d turn that monster on just for the **** of it, I doubt he’d gas out harder than Canelo and yes he’d take a lot of punishment but he’d also take the fight.

People perspective of how to beat Canelo is the Bivol type of 12-0, to earn a very close 115-113 on the scorecards. If you not beat him like that, people will automatically score the fight for Canelo, without even using their brain, if they actually had one.
