In addition.... Billy Conn a h2h BEAST! Tommy Loughran...a purist master. Victor Galindez...a master counterpuncher, master of the 15 round distance, and a quality proven champion. Ken Buchanan....the Great Scot...what more can you say? Eddie Mustafa Muhammad...the cool, collected master... Nicolino Locche....the ultimate defensive master... Gene Tunney...ahead of his time... Jack Dempsey...the old Manassa rattlesnake.
-Arturo Gatti - from the era when I started my love of boxing. The ultimate warrior. -Bobby Chacon - Gatti before Gatti but a bit better too -Roberto Duran - style, intensity and killer instinct -Alexis Arguello - class inside and outside the ring. I liked him in all the ways he was different to Duran -Evander Holyfield - there is no more appropriate nickname in boxing than his. He was the Real Deal and he proved it time after time. -James Toney - rarely have an attitude and a fighting style seemed so contrary. Before I saw him box I heard him talk and assumed he would fight like a killer, all intensity and pressure. Then I watched him box and realised he kept his intelligence in the ring. -Felix Trinidad - never a dull moment. I loved the way he built momentum in his fights. For a devastating puncher, he could be a slow starter. You knew the early knockdown was coming, but you also knew he was getting back up to knock out his opponent. -Aaron Pryor - he fought with an absolute disregard for his own safety which made every fight exciting. One of those fighters who was destined to burn brightly for a short time.
I knew I'd forget some! Salvador Sanchez - he was so cool, calm and collected under pressure he could have been a champion poker player. More than that, though, he was aesthetically brilliant and could do it all. Maybe the greatest 'what if?' in boxing history. Matthew Saad Muhammad - how not to fight if you want to sustain your career but the ultimate fan fighter. A boxer who was born to perform miracles in the ring.
I think that holmes would have a fan in my person if he was not a stupid guy, i don' t like the jealous people. and his hatred for george got no limit

I know and apologize. I knew this was a bad one to get involved in answering! I could lose my mind if had to them in order, or discuss why they are special! I would like to apologize to Sean O’Grady, Clinton Mckenzie, and Tex Cobb whom I forgot to include. . .

Most of my favs have been mentioned so i'll just add Lennox Lewis. I liked his style inside and outside the ring. I'm a big fan of Linares too. Suffered some setbacks but came back and had a really good career. I like how he went to Japan to train and fight.
More of my faves……… Matthew Saad Muhammad - Made to order for TV. Very good technically, actually, but he just loved to punch it out, to fan's delight. Dick Tiger - There's that stoicism again, along with superb toughness and strength on the inside. Not many wanted any part of this guy in the trenches. Marvin Hagler - I used to like him more before he started the 20-year whinefest following the loss to Leonard. Still like the old-school approach to things in an era that was supposed to have been done with that kind of ethic. He stood out that way.
I know you dont like Holmes. We went over this befor. But I will say this my wife and I were in Easton so of course I wanted to have lunch at his restaurant as he was my Champ through my high school yrs and hoping I would see him. Not only did I see him but he sat with my wife and I signed a couple pics for me and posed for a bunch of pictures. The man couldn't have been nicer.
Holmes definitely has a chip on his shoulder, but I don't think he's dumb. He strikes me as fairly smart, his goofy voice notwithstanding.
