Actually, I don´t think this has anything to do with comic books or graphic novels. We know Tyson admired Dempsey and Dempsey, like all the people in the 20s, weared suits with a hat like this. This was just the fashion then and I assume Tyson tried to copy it.

Say what you want...Mike Tyson looked like a physical freak in the 90's...

 

tyson had one of the most perfect builds I've ever seen back in the 80's. He looked huge, but natural, not all freakish. That's because he didn't use weights, only bodyweight. See my avatar.
