I'm pretty sure Mannix had it 114-113 for Chenko. Sergio obviously had him winning too.

Scoring is based on more on clean punches than punches landed. Chenko landed more power punches in every round except the first. Power punches generally count more than jabs.

Why by the time they do have a 3rd fight Canelo can rightly get a legit W, GGG will be 38/39 by then.

Canelo and the cuck DLH have no shame and will love what they saw last night.

Just in case, NYSAC boxing rules for judging:

    "
    1. A clean, forceful hit, landed on any vulnerable part of the body above the belt should be credited in proportion to its damaging effect.
    2. Aggressiveness is next in importance and points should be awarded to the contestant who sustains the action of a round by the greatest number of skillful attacks.
    3. Defensive work is relatively important and points should be given for cleverly avoiding or blocking a blow.
    4. Points should be awarded where ring generalship is conspicuous. The comprises such points as the ability to quickly grasp and take advantage of every opportunity offered, the capacity to cope with all kinds of situations which may arise; to foresee and neutralize an opponent's method of attack; to force an opponent to adopt a style of boxing at which he is not particularly skillful.
    ...
When neither contestant has a decided margin in effectiveness, the winner should be determined on points scored and aggressiveness.
    "

I didn't score it, but it looked like Derevyanchenko should have maybe nicked it by a point. This was very close to a draw as the judges scorecards reflected.

Yeah, GGG's output was low and slow, and he looked old and sick. His stamina was poor, which you could blame on illness or his new trainers. But more than that his technique was significantly worse, and that is entirely the trainer's fault. Even if most of D's punches weren't effective or getting through he was out hustling GGG and looked like he was controlling most of the fight getting those ring generalship points. Golovkin looked like he hit harder, but aside from that knockdown in the first round nothing really seemed to effect either man that much, and there weren't any flashy highlight punches. Punch connects were roughly the same with GGG getting more jabs and D getting more bodyshots. D isn't feather fisted even if he doesn't punch like GGG so I'd expect that the body shots did more damage.

114-113 GGG. He won it in the championship rounds for me. Get a rematch made, that was an excellent fight.

Props to Derev, he really went for it. Golovkin looked exactly what you'd expect a 37 year old to look like and my word, he is weak af to the body now. 4 fights left on that deal huh? It's sad for me, GGG made me a passionate fan of the sport. But it is what it is.

Also, I didn't rate Sanchez particularly. I'm not entirely sure outside of being cheaper what Banks is really doing. But then in your late 30's I'm not sure what changes you can expect.

Are you saying that he is still the fighter he was 4/5 years ago?

    Are you really that dense?

I’ve just said if and by the time they fight a 3rd fight after he and DLH age him just that little bit more Canelo probably finally gets a legit W, it has everything to do with ageing the fighter for a fight of least resistance.

Maybe he should get on that Mexican beef to roll back the years.

I came back to this fight after remembering the "controversy" and found some additional press scores:

    Forbes 115-112 SD
    USA Today 114-113 SD
    NY Post 114-113 SD
    Sports Illustrated 114-113 SD
    Sporting News 115-112 GGG
    AP 115-112 GGG
    The Guardian 115-112 GGG
    Yahoo 115-112 GGG
    CBS 114-113 GGG

Boxrec (average of 76 scorecards) GGG 114.3 - SD 113.01

Eye On the Ring (60+ scorecards) GGG rounds 1,2,7,8,11,12 - SD rounds 3,4,5,6,9,10 = 114-113 GGG

At the end of the day, this was a close fight. I remember scoring it 114-113 GGG live, but feeling like he took more damage. I think people give more credit to SD given he was supposed to get steamrolled in the eyes of many.

114-113 GGG but Derev could have won.

    Golovkin's toughest fight so far.
