    Round 1: 10 - 9 Ward
    Round 2: 10 - 9 Kovalev
    Round 3: 10 - 9 Kovalev
    Round 4: 10 - 9 Ward
    Round 5: 10 - 9 Ward
    Round 6: 10 - 9 Kovalev
    Round 7: 10 - 9 Ward

The 3 official judges, two of them had Ward up by a point, the 3rd judge had Kovalev up by 3 points.

    My close rounds were:

1 -- Gave to Kovalev but could have gone to Ward
    3 -- Same
    5 -- Same
    7 -- Gave to Ward

The thing that shocked me about Round 5 was that, after the round, HBO has the punch total for the round like 14-3 Kovalev. The round seemed closer than that, I thought.

I had it 67-66 Ward but it could have been the other way as well. Kovalev was scoring well with the jab, but he seemed to be fading as early as round 5. These guys will always fight close fights though.

Compubox had Kovalev at +21 punches landed through 6 rounds. And Kovalev ended up landing more punches in the fight overall, despite the lopsided 8th round.

Kovalev was hitting a ton of air. Ward was in great shape, never hurt.

Which is why he was +21 in total punches landed through 6 rounds.

Fight was pretty even, 4-3 Ward on my card. Ward looked sharper, better defensively, etc. Kovalev was hitting air but had his moments when he jabbed. He jabbed less in this fight.

I guess Kovalev can't punch then if he landed that much. I didn't see Kovalev land any power punches other than in the sixth round.

    1. I don't buy into punch stats.
    2. I never said Ward landed more, but he was definitely more efficient.

Also consider, there was a round where Ward did absolutely nothing but back pedal. Most of Kovalev's work was in that round. Kovalev's power must be overrated cuz he didn't do **** with it.

Almost sure he was ahead in power punches, even perhaps at the end of the 8th round after Ward's barrage.

As far as Kovalev's power goes, I think Round 2 of the first fight showed pretty much all we needed to see.
